						<description> As a naturally friendly person, it's easy for me to talk with just about anyone I meet personally.  And as I have described in earlier posts, it's not hard to find ways to get people to approach you.  But, in real life, it's hard to make a homebased marketing business work with just one method of prospecting.. It requires a sort of smorgas board approach to identifying people who could possibly be interested in developing a part or full time income working from home when they don't even know what it is you do.  Right now, there is &quot;novelty&quot; with the use of the Internet as a medium of information that will draw some people to you, especially if you are using interesting tools to present your ideas.  So how do you promote your business or plan on the Internet?  Well, it's either do it yourself, or let &quot;George&quot; do it for you, in other words, find a way to delegate the &quot;heavy lifting&quot; to a professional &quot;presenter&quot;.  In most cases, the latter is the best choice. Of course, no one can promote my &quot;brand&quot; as well as I do, but that's just my brand, a way for others to readily identify me.  The real message is contained somewhere within the medium that you use to present the business that you are promoting.  Here's one way to do it. 						<description> The way my little &quot;reverse marketing&quot; plan works, and it works good, is that curiosity usually gets the best of someone and they have to ask me about &quot;My $75,000 Button&quot; or &quot;My $75,000 Cap&quot;.  Of course the $75,000 ties into the answer that comes when I think I have their full attention.  The compensation plan for my primary business applied to a certain promotional plan that the company offers amounts to a $75,000 income within the first year of operation, but before that, there has to be a general benefit statement that will get their attention.  It helps if you know a little about the individual that has asked you to explain the $75K... whatever.. that caught their attention.  The fundamental thrust of my business plan though, it about recruiting, so whatever I say will be an attempt to gain the &quot;suspect's&quot; agreement that they would like to know more. So it might go something like this.. after I have their name.... &quot;John, what this &quot;$75k Cap&quot; does is help me find people who are interested in earning extra money, and when I find them, I show them how they can have a flex-time business that earns a full-time income... Do you know someone who's looking to make some extra money?&quot;  More often than not, they usually come back with &quot;yeah, me!&quot;.... 

Where you go from there is up to you, but you still have to &quot;set the hook&quot;... Just because they said that they want to make some extra money, doesn't mean that they are really interested in your plan, it just means that they want to know more, and they might even ask you, &quot;doing what?&quot;.... and of course that's where you will have to find your way to get them to the next step... It's really different for everyone...but my recommendaton is that you simply do an exchange of information and tell them that you will call for an appointment at a time that's convenient, where you can &quot;show' them your product...(You may want to get them to a meeting or a call or something of the sort, but whatever path you use, you will have to lead them there, not push them there...

						<title> Answering Some Commonly Asked Questions</title>

						<description> In the past I used to try to tell anyone who would listen about my &quot;project&quot;.  Not just that I was working on a Internet Marketing Project, but I went into every little detail of the project.  And not just the concepts of how I envisioned the project becoming a reality, but the technical details of how it could become &quot;something&quot; on a web page or web site.  At this point, I don't know if the reason that I did what I did was because I was so excited about the project, or because I wanted them to know that &quot;I knew how to do it&quot;...And now I realize, that if it was the latter, I was so woefully wrong in doing so.  What a waste of time and energy!  So now, when someone asks me a question about what I do, I just refer them to one of my websites or, if I don't think they would understand or have any interest in what they would find at the website, just tell them &quot;I'm working on an Internet Marketing Project&quot;, and leave it at that unless they want to know more.  Once they start to get enough information to understand that to do what I am doing, they would have to (1) have a good computer; (2) know how to use it and about 30 fairly common applications; (3) be connected to the Internet with a good broadband connection; and (4) be willing to actually learn something new and different, they come to a very wrong conclusion that this is obviously something that they couldn't do!  But there are a few who will take their curiosity a step or two further and ask a question prefaced by a remark like, &quot;I could never do anything like that.... How long did it take you to learn all that computer stuff&quot;?  So let me try to paint a little picture of me for you that might help everyone get a little better idea of how I came to be where I am, knowing what I know at this point.

First, I am no different that most people, except that I am not willing to accept the idea that there is something out there that I can't learn.  Some see a part of my work and, depending on their level of technical understanding, say&quot; Wow, do you have a degree in information technology or something&quot;?
The answer is no.  I don't have any formal training with either computer hardware, computer software applications, Internet applications, or anything of the sort.  Here's what I am.  I am an old retired truck driver who decided to find a way to learn all this stuff about computers, the many different applicatons and the Internet, WITHOUT FORMAL &quot;GO TO CLASS&quot; TRAINING.  I figured that if the Internet was really what everyone says it is, then I should be able to get everything I needed to do what I had in mind, for free.  Yes, I did, and you can too.  Here's another little tidbit of information that most overlook too... which is that, I didn't learn all this stuff by myself.  There are literally hundreds of people who have contributed to my current technical ability.  Now, I might have learned it all a lot quicker and easier had I &quot;paid&quot; for formal training, but I didn't choose to pay in that way.  However, there is always a price to pay.  I paid with time and the frustration of repetition, doing things over and over till it finally came out right.  So when someone asks me how long it will take, my answer is, depending on the route you decide to take to get to this point, it takes as long as it takes.

Sounds like a &quot;cutesy remark&quot; doesn't it?  But it's not really.  Here's the point.  There are lots of guys out there who learn at a much faster rate than me.  Many who are already &quot;light years&quot; ahead of where I was when I made the decision to learn, and that number probably rates up there in the millions.  Lots of times when I make my &quot;as long as it takes&quot; statement, they will come back with something like, &quot;it would probably take me 2 years to learn all that stuff&quot;.... And my question is, &quot;If learning to do what I do will help you to produce a high six figure income... every year... why would you care how long it takes?  The fact is, if you are earning $50,000 per year right now..(or any other amount as far as that goes), and you don't do anything different than you are today, and are lucky enough to maintain your health and your employer don't find a reason to replace you with someone younger, faster, and cheaper, how much will you be earning per year two years from now?  Personally, I don't intend to be in the same place, financially, I am today, two years from now...and it doesn't really matter where that place is, it can be anywhere on the scale.  The deciding factor in your success is your ability to make a decision, make a plan, set a goal, and get started.  What if Thomas Edison had given up after his 10th attempt to invent the light bulb?  Or even the 100th time he failed, or the 1000th time he didn't get it to work....We would all be trying to read this stuff in the dark wouldn't we?

						<title> Pulling it all together</title>

						<description> When I began my quest to find a way to market my business through the Internet, I thought I knew something about the Internet, after all, I had been browsing around since as far back as the mid ninties.  The effort to put myself out there is teaching me exactly how little I did know.  I have learned some valuable lessons, but the most valuable of all is, if you just keep going from one dot to the next, sooner or later you will finally get all the dot's connected.  So that's the way I look at the evolvement of this enterprise, I am just connecting the dots.  When I get to the point where I need to learn something new, I just go find someone who knows it, and either pick their brain, or if they are kind enough, just let them teach me what I need to know.

Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some of my most recent discoveries, and hopefully get some points across that might help others... I am sure that not everyone will start from the same level I did, just as I am sure that some will be further ahead, and some will be further behind, but I have come to the conclusion that all that doesn't really matter.  If you know where you want to go, get focused on the goal, identify the obstacles, put a plan together, and start, you are already light years ahead of 90% of the rest of the competition.

I started this blog to pass on information about My $75,000 System, and as you can see, posted some good information about reverse marketing there.  But this project has taken me far from the nuances of the approach and into the real world of the Internet, and now it's time to get really serious and pull it all together.  My next entry will address an outline of the way I am building my Internet &quot;empire&quot;, and how it might work for you too.

						<title> A Fun Twist On Casual Reverse Marketing</title>

						<description> Do you meet people during the course of your everyday activities?  Why not turn them into leads the easy way?

A while back I was introduced to a very interesting marketing approach by a gentleman who does a lot of casual prospecting.  As he goes about his daily routine, he simply strikes up conversations with people he meets and turns the conversation to questions about their occupation.  What do you do? Where do you work?  How long have you been there?  Do you enjoy your work? And so on, until, inevitably, the other party will finally ask him about his occupation and he will have an opportunity to make a very general, vague statement about what he does, which, inevitably, causes the other party to ask a second question, and that is... What's that?  Finally, the prospective prospect has given him permission to present his opportunity, and is focused on an expected answer.  It's called permisson marketing.  It works very well simply because you allowed them to ask you for information.  You aren't trying to sell them anything or even to set an appointment at that point.. Just &quot;fishing&quot; for interest is all. Of course there is more to the system that he uses, but the bottom line for me was that it took much too long to develop, and frankly, I just didn't find myself in a position to start all the conversations that I would need to start to get all the prospects I needed to feed my business.  So, I decided to shorten the process some by just finding a way to get the &quot;other party&quot; to ask me a question without going through all the preliminary warm up.  I figured that if I put out an ad so outrageous that it was &quot;unbelievable&quot;, then I might get some questions about it... but what, and how, and what about the cost?  Getting straight to the bottom line, the process that began with these questions finally lead me to develop what I call &quot;My $75,000 System&quot;.  

I knew that whatever I did, it needed to be something that would easily tie back into my primary business, and at the time the company had a promotion going that featured the goal of earning $75,000 the first year.  As an independent operator, I would have to find the prospects to present to any way that I could.  So, to keep the costs down, and get the message out as directly as possible, I developed the first of my many tools.  My $75,000 Cap&quot;...Since I generally wore a baseball style ball cap every time I went out in public..(to cover my balding head).... I thought the large black font logo on the front of my white ball cap would stand out, and maybe get a few people to ask... What does that mean?  Well, what I got instead was &quot;Don't you think you overpaid for the cap?&quot;... But that was ok.  At least it started a conversation, right?  Isn't that the point?  Well, in time I learned to respond in a general way that promoted more conversation during which I was able to &quot;present&quot; my business and offer to give them more information if they were interested.  In short, it worked like a champ, and it worked everytime I went out in public anywhere.   The bottom line response that I eventually get to is the serious statement &quot;This cap helps me to find people who are interested in earning extra money, and when I find someone who is, I just show them how to earn about $75,000 per year.... in their spare time, without disrupting what they are already doing..... I know that you are probably already earning a good income, and really don't have the time to get involved in anything else right now, but WHO DO YOU KNOW WHO MIGHT BE IN NEED OF DEVELOPING A SECONDARY INCOME?  More often than not, the answer is &quot;Well, I would like to know more about it, what would I have to do?&quot;  Now, isn't that what we, in the sales and marketing business are trying to get done in the first place?

Of course, there's much more to the system, and there are many more tools that I have developed since the first &quot;$75,000 Cap&quot;.  And the techniques have been refined somewhat too.  If you'd like to learm more about how the &quot;system&quot; has developed, and how you might be able to use it in your business, just stay tuned to my blog here and I will post on a regular basis.  Some of the posts might just be about a particularly interesting conversation that was the result of the &quot;system&quot;, and some might be about some interesting situations that developed as a result of this simple little marketing method.
