Today I talk about both Facebook and Twitter. I spend a lot more time in
Facebook as I enjoy it more. I like people and it gives me a chance to spend
time with them.

Twitter is purely business. I use it to answer the most important question,
what am I doing? Feel free to follow me on twitter and I will follow you.

If you are interested in my new primary company, click here. Although I have
shared this with you before, I am beginning to really appreciate the simplicity.
I like things nice and easy. I enjoy the videos on youtube the founder has
produced as well as the tools. It is a nice easy business like GDI. I joined
GDI at the right time and my business took off. I still receive a check from
them each month even though I have not promoted an affiliate link for them
in over a year.

I actually recorded this video this past Thursday, however didn�t have the
chance to post it to my blog until today. I would like to make a
clarification. In Facebook each day you can play with your status.
Examples of my status have been �getting ready to go to work,� �looking
forward to the weekend,� �Watching Billy Bathgate on DVD.� I try to be
creative and funny and my friends get to comment on my status. I also may
comment on your status.

It is okay to add me as a friend and comment on my status. It is okay to
interact with others who comment on my status. If someone adds you as a
friend and you start going back and forth and they ask what you do, by all
means share with them a link. However if you just go to people in my
friends� list and pitching them an opportunity without their permission
(example, �hey you are friends with Alan, me too, join this amazing
opportunity), I will be extremely upset. I have family and friends in
Facebook who have nothing to do with my business. Facebook is a social
networking site.

Facebook to me is a big social gathering. When I confirm you as a friend,
I am introducing new people to you. Some people will want to discuss
baseball while others will want to discuss football. Some will want to
discuss the election and others may want to discuss current events. I like
movies, tv shows and am open to different affiliate programs whereas a lot
of people I know are not. The whole point is to find out what a person is
interested in first before talking about a subject they have no interest
in.

Like this video mentions, I did away with the guestbook feature on my
site and it now points to Facebook. If you are a real person with a
real picture, I will add you as a Friend. I really like Facebook as
a social networking site. It is one of the better ones.

A few months ago I joined NPN. I found them through friends I met
through Veretekk. Right now there are two different systems for
people that sign under me and would ask which one do you think is
better? We have the $200 per day blueprint or the 2 Free Videos.

I think I am back to shooting videos indoors now. I do work full time
and when I get home now it is dark. I do enjoy shooting videos, but I
get better energy doing them outdoors.

Some of the banners I created are below. I designed them using Microsoft
Powerpoint. I sent the design for banner and when I host them, I set
the width at 468 and height at 60.

I shot this Sunday October 12, 2008 at Lighthouse Park in New
Haven, Connecticut. This will probably be the last time in 2008
where I stick my feet in the water.

I do need to read up on the manual in drowning out the wind
and also why you couldn't see me. Still I do appreciate the
background. I will remember this day.

Each week I try to share stuff that I try. I do enjoy making videos. The
videos I mostly share with you are the serious ones. I treat them like
business presentations and be serious. This week you can tell I have a bit
of a sense of humor by the shirt I was wearing. I admit it was loud.

I upload my joke videos to youtube. I do check the hits on each of them.
On one of the videos someone rated it and commented on it. The number
of hits on it then doubled. If I had a list (hey I do) I can tell people
about my videos and get more exposure. Exposure is great. With your list
you could ask people to rate and/or comment on it for more exposure.

I am not a comedian or anything, but do feel my youtube videos are better
than what you see on television (comparing this to reality tv). It is not
that I am that good, just that the stuff on television is so bad. I really
can't stand reality tv. It is the worst.

I would like to share with you the youtube video that received the most
compliments. Click here to see it. If you are easily offended, please
do not watch. I liked the late George Carlin and also like Larry David
from Curb Your Enthusiasm. If you do like, please rate and/or comment on
it. I was impressed again the way the hits doubled.

Alan The Internet Guy's Trip to Canada

I had the opportunity in Quebec City to stay at the Chateau Frontenac.
My room was actually small, but the view of this building and the other
buildings were spectactular. Quebec City is celebrating its 400
anniversary so everything was very clean.

I took the train from Penn Station, New York to Montreal. It is an 11
hour train ride, however the scenery by the water is very nice. The crowd
on the train both ways were pleasant, however the border patrol were difficult
to most of the passengers. They left me alone, but I was a little uncomfortable
on some of the questions they were asking my fellow passengers.

From Montreal I took another train (4 hours) to Quebec City. This was
one of the best trips I have ever taken and the funny thing is this trip was
actually a business trip. I have taken many business trips before, but nothing
compares to Quebec City.

The introduction I recorded last Wednesday. The trip was two weeks ago. This
was a great summer.

This is episode four of building your business online.

Correction to this video, I say you can't build your opportunity with a
traffic exchange. The truth is you use traffic exchanges and extortion
marketing (point A) to capture a person's name and e-mail address and
then put that person on a drip campaign (point B). You use your drip
campaigns to build your opportunity (point C). You can not go from point
A to point C and skip point B.

It is crucial that you understand this.

As I mentioned in this video, you best bet with traffic exchanges is

Unfortunately shortly after we had a severe thunderstorm so I turned off
the pc for the night. The next day (Wednesday) I had to remove that came
down as a result of the storm. Life does get in the way.

This video is a tribute to my car, May 12, 1993 to April 8, 2008 with
196,846 miles on it. I know it is weird to get attached to things
like cars, but I did have it for 15 years.

The next car I buy will probably be a Honda Civic. They are a little
less expensive than the Honda Accord and better on gas. I will never
buy a brand new car like I did with the 93 Accord. I probably will
try www.carmax.com.

This is the first video I shot outside on a nice day. It did get a little
windy which is why I think the background got loud a few times. You can
hear the birds.

I become a true video editor as I shot the beginning last. I realized
after filming the end I had to include a few things.

The traffic exchanges I like the most are TrafficSwarm and HitSafari. I
like them the most as they give you 20 seconds to get a viewer's attention
while most other traffic exchanges give you 10 to 15 seconds.

I just want to say I used google video this week instead of yahoo video
as yahoo video was not working tonight. I started recording videos
with google and one day google video wasn't working so I started using
yahoo video. Just wanted to share the difficulties you might encounter
if you decide to make internet videos. They are working for me.

This video is a must, especially if you are a member of GDI. The best
way to get my attention is to reply to one of my e-mails at alan@alantig.com
with comments like "I like your site, liked your article on" at this
point mention one of the articles on my site. I would then ask if I could
send you an invite to what I am doing. You want to build a relationships
online with people. To quote Dr. Denis Waitely (one of my favorites), "if
you are not networking, you may not be working." It is something to
think about.

I grew up watching Star Trek with my brothers and this is the original pilot episode.
I am glad the new Star Trek movie coming out in 2009 will feature the character of
Captain Christopher Pike.

Correction to this video, I say parenthesis when I should have said
quotes. To search for cooking and recipes bulletin boards and/or forums,
go to Google and type in quotes "cooking and recipes forums." The quotes
are important in doing a search; otherwise it will only search the first
word.

I had a lot of plans last night (recording and editing), but my computer
was running really slow because of spyware. I downloaded more software
which made my computer even slower. I then removed a lot of programs
and my pc is running fine now. Still it was problem and in life we have
good days and bad days of running an online business. Yesterday was bad.

With Veretekk, the marketing system I use for my list, they have flash
ads for each of their portals and I am started to add them to site along
with content. See computing & internet as an example on my page.

What America needs to know!

This particular video which I uploaded to YouTube I would call
political satire. Although many people in this country and in the world in
general are focused on this presidential election, there are still way too many
people focusing on the person I mentioned. I would like to see more
people focusing on more important things like climate, war, world hunger, etc.

Still I did have fun making it. If you have a YouTube account and
would like to rate this video (hint, hint - more people will see it), go

You will note I leave my website address at the end. I want people to
see it and then visit my site. If you ever decide to make videos and
upload them to the public, be prepared for comments (good and bad). It is
important to be thick skinned. I personally don't care what a person
says about me, if they go to my site, look at what I am promoting and even
go so far as to click one of the Google ad sense links, they can say whatever
they want. I am one of those people who doesn't believe in bad
press. Any press is good.

My second video shot with my new sony dvd camcorder. Although I
shot this one indoors, it is easier to work with than the pc camera
I use to use. I like being able to take it in any room in the house.

I did say at one point "I am having fun being me." My comment may
seem a bit arrogant. I did not mean it this way. In the corporate
world you have to be so careful on what you say and how you say
it. Say the wrong thing, you are penalized. I understand why so
many people are concerned about image. On the other hand, working
for myself and being my own boss I can say whatever I want. It is
actually very liberating.
