Nowadays, it is getting harder to get high response rate to online advertising. I am not scaring you but merely stating the fact, from experience.

In the past, a simple squeeze page consisting of a headline, some tips and an opt-in form can easily get an opt-in conversion of 10%. But now, the conversion of such a squeeze page is hardly 5%!

I am utterly surprised that some professionally designed squeeze pages are getting the response rate that I expected.

Is online advertising dead?

I don�t think so. I�m still seeing advertisements with good response rate.

After studying some of the online advertising sales letters with good response rate, I realized that the fundamentals of online advertising has not changed.

The only problem is that the days of short opt-in squeeze pages are gone. Prospects are getting immune to the idea of opting in. Nice graphic and squeeze page design can no longer impress the prospects.

Things have pretty much gone back to the basic.

At a recent seminar, one of the attendees reminded me of why most seasoned Internet marketers are not more successful. This seminar attendee and I were sitting at a table in the hotel's lounge with several other guests and speakers. He began to enumerate all of the things that he had done the first NIGHT of the seminar. Many gurus will tell you that safelist is a complete waste of time and to certain extend, I agree. But if you know the tricks, it can be a good source of traffic for you.

Without further ado, here are the tricks to get good response from safelist advertising.

1) Don�t sell. Build list!

Safelist traffic seldom buy stuff on the spot. Don�t advertise your business opportunity directly or sell your product upfront. It won�t work.

Instead, your main job is to give. Give away free gifts, free info and/or arouse their curiosity so that they opt-in to your list.

After they opt-in to your list, you can lead them to a one-time offer using the strategy I shared with you earlier on. If the offer is good, they will bite.

As you can see, I�m giving away more than 1000 minutes of internet marketing videos. The opt-in conversion is good. After prospects opt-in, they will see my one-time offer. About 5% will take up the offer, but bear in mind that it�s not the end.

Before I continue, I need to tell you that this is not a review site trying to lure you into reading this page and then convince you to buy Legit Online Jobs. Let me be frank. I won�t buy this product if I were you. I�m just using this product for discussion purpose.

How to identify online scams?

In the past, it was pretty easy to identify scams. Scammers usually use beautiful stock photos for their testimonials. Their graphic editing skills are so poor that it is obvious that the earning proofs are doctored.

However, today�s scammers are smarter and they can produce fake testimonials and fake earnings like real!

The only way to decide whether a product is a scam is by studying its business model.

Below are some online business models typically used by scammers (or I should say opportunists).

1) Ponzi scheme

A Ponzi scheme usually takes money from you and promises that you will earn more later. The extra money paid to you usually comes from the subsequent members who join the scheme. This means new members are supporting old members.

I received an email today from a gentleman telling me he was interested in my business opportunity but first wanted to know if it was for real and how quickly would he be able to make a couple thousand dollars? Without knowing anything about his marketing experience or what he was actually interested in, it was a little difficult for me to respond.I got the impression that he was really looking for me to tell him that "yes, I have the best program on the internet for you, you won't have to do any work, and you will be making maybe $2,000 within two weeks!"

Now as successful internet marketers and home based business owners, we all know this is certainly not the case. There's no magic involved, there's no income genie in a bottle - a home based business and making money online requires perserverence, consistency, and what? Hard work!

6. Check your keywords and make sure they are relevant and actually are contained in your site. Avoid keywords stuffing.
