DougMitchell's Vitamin Shop http://www.douglasjamesmitchell.com/doug-mitchells-vitamin-shop-and-your-diet
Last time in The Vitamin Shop, we discussed diet and some of the crazes that took hold of people's perception of proper nutrition. I focused on the diet in which people would eat primarily fats and proteins, avoiding carbohydrates all together. The reason I chose this diet is that it was so effective with weight loss, and it appeared to directly oppose conventional wisdom concerning a proper diet. But at the end I disagreed with the long term benefits of such a diet, mainly due to a persons ability to sustain the eating habits that were required.

I know there were people who benefited from this type of diet, but I always believed nutrition looked a little different. That is because I believe that good nutrition and diet is not simply tricking your body, but by following a disciplined, but rewarding type of diet. Something that would have you eating your fruits and grains during the morning and afternoon, and then sticking primarily to meats and vegetables in the early evening. This is because of the glycemic index of these foods. Basically, a glycemic index tells us how fast a food digests, and in turn has fuel for our bodies. Well, what we know about fuel is that if you do not use it, your will store it. Too much and you will be accumulating fat in ares of your body where you do not want it. So that is because one should, in my opinion, consume the faster digesting foods in the morning, and stick with the slower digesting foods in the evening.

This serves you two fold.

On one side, you are generating a lot of sugar in your bloodstream early in the morning when you need it. And secondly, slower digesting foods steady the sugar in your blood which is absorbed as fuel much more efficiently. This will decrease fat accumulation in your body. I would not get too rigid with the exact foods you eat, as a matter of fact I would switch it up a lot. But I would definitely try to stick with the guidelines, to have it benefit you most. Another thing I would recommend is not consuming any calories two hours before you go to sleep. This way, you will have enough energy at night, but you will not be having any sugar spikes in your blood when your metabolic activity is at it's slowest. That will help prevent fat accumulation as well.

I do hope you enjoy using these guidelines when eating, I know it takes a little getting used to. But in a positive light, if you ever slip up you can always start over the next day focused until you develop a routine or pattern. Your body will always adapt and change to the stimulus you place on it. Next time I would like to share with you some of the exercise routines to keeping healthy and in shape. Again, these are just guidelines I will be sharing, you will be able to mix up a lot in this routine if you choose to.

To Your Health

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com May 15, 2012 - 2:25 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop-3
Today in my Vitamin Shop I would like to take a break from the usual discussion on the various Vitamins and Supplements, and go right into a topic that is rarely discussed. Food. We get so caught up in the latest gadgets and nutritional supplements, when concerning good health one should primarily focus on food intake. Food is our fuel, which powers the engines we call our bodies. For most people when we eat, we are just looking for something to fill our stomachs, and it is not so often we take even a casual look in to what the ingredients are to the food we are eating. There have been large discussions and even disagreements concerning what types of foods are best for optimal health, and which foods will make us feel healthier.

It was not long ago, in the nineties there were many crazes that took place that shook up conventional wisdom of proper nutrition. People began eating eggs, fried meats, and cheeses but skipped out on starches and carbohydrates. They ate as much as they wanted, with no restrictions on how much or when they ate. Amazingly, many of these people began to actually lose weight, primarily in the form of fat which gave them a more healthy appearance. Another startling fact was that these people had normal to healthy blood values when it came to cholesterol, and lipids. As a matter of fact I worked with a well known woman throughout the hospital who in her sixties, took on this approach to eating this way and amazed most of the staff by losing roughly fifty pounds! She began exercising with her new found energy, and kept up with the same diet. The last I have heard from her, it has been years later and she kept most of the weight off, but began introducing very small amounts of carbohydrates back on to her diet.

It was hard to believe that what appeared to be a bad change in ones diet would yield such a positive result in their health!

Well as I did some research to see how this could make sense, then some things started to come together. I have learned that your body needs carbohydrates to digest fat. And if one were to lower their intake of all carbohydrates and sugars, so would their ability to digest and store fat. It was a very interesting diet in that it was so effective and such basic science was involved. But me personally, even seeing the effects firsthand with my friend, I do not think the majority of the population would benefit from the diet long term. My personal approach to a good diet would involve carbohydrates, and decreasing fat intake. Next time I will get into what exactly that diet would look like.

To your Health

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com May 14, 2012 - 3:30 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop | Vitamin D Benefits http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop-vitamin-d-benefits
Also seen at Tomorrows Home Business Community

Lately in Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop the focus has been on Vitamin D Benefits. This is because Vitamin D is such an important supplement for good health. When we think of our health, it is important to see what is really going on. You see an individual. They look fairly healthy. But what we do not see is down at the molecular level this person must have an efficient metabolic system.

What I mean is true health can been seen at the cellular level. How efficient ones cells can take in nutrients and eliminate waste are paramount for the health of the overall body. For those that know me know I work in the medical field as a Respiratory Therapist. One of the biggest misconceptions with the lungs is that they improve somehow with exercise. While this is partially true, the majority of ones ability to feel in better shape is the persons cells ability to consume oxygen at a more efficient rate. The lungs are still needed in the equation, however it is the bodys ability to utilize that oxygen at a more efficient rate which allows the body to work harder and longer, creating that upward spiral we call good health. Your cells are no different when it comes to eliminating waste as well. Antioxidants are helpful in keeping your cells healthy and clean from the free radical garbage that builds up with stress and poor diet.

Although Vitamin D has not really been considered an antioxidant by most, its ability to help with disease fighting cells in your body can never be underestimated. To keep your body strong and in good health is to keep a good amount of Vitamin D on board for when it is needed. Recently, I contracted a stomach bug. For days I was hurting and needed the necessary sleep and hydration to get well again. Now I am feeling much better and have resumed training for The Boilermaker as planned. Today was a great day for training and getting a good amount of Vitamin D. That is because it is one of those days when the sun is shining.

We get a good amount of Vitamin D from the sun. This is done when the suns natural rays meet our skin and with the help of cholesterol, create an abundant amount of Vitamin D for our bodys use. I may sound like I am babbling a bit, and that is because I am, but now that I am feeling better have much to say. So I guess the scope of what I am trying to say is keep up your immune system with a good amount of Vitamin D. That can be as easy as a walk outside in a beautiful sunny day.

But if you are feeling run down and do not have the ability to just go outside and enjoy the suns benefits, look into Vitamin D Supplementation to meet you bodys needs.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist.

Doug Mitchell Skype: dmitchell757 Catskill, New York 12414 Phone: 518-722-8203 dougmitchell73@gmail.com May 11, 2012 - 4:01 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop-2
Today in my Vitamin Shop, I would like to speak about the inevitable...illness. No matter how much you take care of yourself with a good diet, nutrition and exercise, nobody is immune to getting sick once in a while. Recently, I have succumbed to an illness, one which many would consider a stomach bug. It is strange for me, however because I do feel my immune system is and has always been up to par. I feel that is because when working in a health care facility, your body does get bombarded daily with different types of viruses and bacterial invaders. You would probably say that would weaken a persons immune system, but actually the exact opposite happens.

Your immune system has a memory so to speak, about all the previous attempts to corrupt it, like a computer program. Once this memory identifies a foreign invader in the future, there is little time wasted on destroying it and eliminating the bug. So in knowing that, it would be safe to say that health care workers have some of the strongest immune systems right? Well even so, just recently I have found myself feeling quite sick. We are all human, and it does not matter where you work or how well you take care of yourself, eventually you will come down with something. But that is not to say the ultimate goal of good health is to continue to strive and protect yourself the best way possible to prevent serious disease that can alter your lifestyle.

So with that in mind, I urge you to check out Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop and look around at all the health and wellness products that can strengthen your immune system and keep you healthy. Nobody is perfect as I said. We all catch a bug from time to time. But with proper rest and keeping your body nourished with vitamin enriched supplements, the odds of you getting sick will diminish.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757

Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com May 09, 2012 - 3:36 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop | Vitamin D http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop-vitamin-d-1 As we are discussing Vitamin D in Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop, I came across an article that I thought would be of benefit to those who are unfamiliar with Vitamin D and the benefits of taking Vitamin D. It is titled: Why Vitamin D Stands For Illness-Fighter, By Dr. Tammy Pon.

Practically every day another benefit of Vitamin D is revealed. Vitamin D is created when our skin is exposed to sunshine. It is also present in our diet, mainly in cold water fish and dark green vegetables. A recent newspaper headline read, Vitamin D Linked to Parkinson's disease. At first glance, it may not be clear if Vitamin D is a culprit or an illness-fighter. Well, in fact, just as Vitamin D helps build bones, Vitamin D plays a role in building our brains, it is an illness-fighter. Vitamin D and Parkinson's. Previous studies have shown that the part of the brain affected most by Parkinson's, the substantia nigra, has high levels of the Vitamin D receptor, which suggests Vitamin D may be important for normal functions of these cells. If we look at other Vitamin D research, low levels of Vitamin D have been found to be associated with: Many neurological diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, Autoimmune disorders such as multiple sclerosis, and Metabolic disorders such as diabetes. Vitamin D is formed when sunlight strikes the skin and interacts with cholesterol. Its main purpose is to shuttle calcium and other minerals to the bones.

Vitamin D as a messenger

Information is carried by a number of messengers inside your body, including proteins and fats. Vitamin D can also act like a messenger, telling the cells how much work to do. Think of this like building a house. Proteins give specific instructions in the same way a carpenter may decide how best to connect walls and windows and doors. Fats may serve as the building materials for the entire house. Vitamin D serves as the general contractor to determine how much building should be done at any specific time. We certainly need proteins and protein complexes of Vitamin B-12 to create the structures making up our brain. We need Vitamin D to tell us how much brain to build when we are young and how much repair work to do as we age.

Why winter is the time for more Vitamin D.

We get Vitamin D from sunlight, foods and supplements. Because we are exposed to less sunshine in the winter than in the summer, we need to be more vigilant about supplementing with Vitamin D and exposing our skin to sunshine whenever practical. Most doctors who recommend Vitamin D explain that winter cold and flu outbreaks are directly related to Vitamin D deficiency. If you take supplements to ensure you're getting enough Vitamin D, make sure they're the type that your body can really use.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist
Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com May 06, 2012 - 3:08 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop | Vitamin D http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop-vitamin-d
What I have decided to do in Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop today is focus on one particular vitamin that many people are in need of, but do not seem to get enough of. Especially in these spring days when it can rain for a month. Without seeing too much of the sun these days, many folks are not getting enough Vitamin D.

Vitamin D is a group of fat soluble secosteroids. In humans, vitamin D is unique because it can be ingested as Vitamin D3 or vitamin D2 and because the body can also synthesize it from cholesterol when sun exposure is adequate, hence its nickname the Sunshine Vitamin. Although vitamin D is commonly called a vitamin, it is not in the sense an essential dietary vitamin as it can be synthesized in adequate amounts by all mammals from sunlight. Vitamin D fits within the definition of vitamin as it is an organic compound required as a vital nutrient in tiny amounts by an organism. An organic chemical compound or related set of compounds is called a vitamin when it cannot be synthesized in sufficient quantities by an organism, and must be obtained from the diet.

As with other compounds called vitamins, it was discovered in an effort to find the dietary substance that was lacking in a disease, namely, rickets, the childhood form of osteomalacia. Additionally, like other compounds called vitamins, in the developed world vitamin D is added to staple foods, such as milk, to avoid disease due to deficiency. Beyond its use to prevent osteomalacia or rickets, the evidence for other health effects of vitamin D supplementation in the general population is inconsistent. The best evidence of benefit is for bone health and a decrease in mortality in elderly women due to osteoporosis.

A diet deficient in vitamin D causes osteomalacia called rickets when it occurs in children, which is a softening of the bones. In the developed world, this is a rare disease. Low blood calcidiol, can result from avoiding the sun which lowers vitamin D levels. Deficiency results in impaired bone mineralization and leads to bone softening diseases. So it is very important to keep up with your Vitamin D supplementation to improve your health and keep you from injury and disease.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com May 03, 2012 - 3:48 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop-1
As I look at the work needed to develop my Vitamin Shop, I can not help but think of why I am putting this site in place. Yes, well of course I am looking to do business with people who want to purchase natural vitamins, that is just one of the reasons I chose this business. But health in general has always been very important to me and anything that I can learn or discover I would like to share with everyone. I would never want to come off as some guy just peddling vitamins, but a true believer in health and seeing vitamins as a supplement for good health.

This brings me to my point which has to do with a seminar I recently attended in Albany, New York. The seminar was titled, The Mind and Body Connection: Who Gets Sick and Who Stays Well. I found the seminar very interesting and the speaker, a gentleman by the name of Dr. Keller was very informative. He even used a sports twist to explain his points and to allow us who follow sports to understand him better. But was really interesting was his basic message which was when it came to health, one of the most important factors was ones attitude toward life. In general, regardless of a persons resources or genetics, if that person chose to be continually happy and had a positive outlook on life or that they chose to be miserable and felt despair daily, that would have a huge impact on their immune system!

Imagine something so much as your attitude having such an impact on your health as to affect your immune system?

Well, I was skeptical at first, but then he went on and had case after case proving his point. I know that things happen to us in life that make it difficult to be happy all the time. But it is the conscious effort in the long run that seemed to make the difference. I am sure you folks reading have heard of some people in the past who have cured their own cancer, with...you guessed it, laughter. Now I am not saying for anyone who has such a serious disease process to try to laugh it off, but there is scientific evidence that the act of laughing frequently was impacting these folks immune systems in a positive way.

Well after the seminar I have always held on the the premise that no matter what I try to do to be healthy, I will start off with a positive attitude that is humorous and compassionate toward myself and others. Despite having the best vitamins available to you, it may be wise to work on your mental health as well. There are always benefits to cold science and feeding the physical body with what it needs. But after sitting through the seminar, I really wanted to share with you the benefits and impact your mental health has on your overall well being.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com May 01, 2012 - 9:46 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop and Your Vision http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop-and-your-vision
Today in Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop we are going to talk about your vision. Since I do wear glasses I thought this was an interesting topic to discuss. The following study may help you Protect Your Vision and possibly prevent vision problems in your future.

Age related macular degeneration, or AMD is the most common cause of irreversible blindness in developed countries. Age is the most significant risk factor. The cause of AMD is not well understood, but some researchers believe that a diet rich in antioxidants may help reduce the risk of AMD. A new study in the December 28, 2005 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association studied a large group of older adults, and found that those who consumed above average intakes of beta-carotene, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and zinc were less likely to develop AMD. Researchers in the Netherlands followed 4,170 people age 55 years or older for an average of eight years. The participants did not have AMD when the study began.

At the start of the study, the participants completed a food frequency questionnaire to determine intake of the following antioxidants and antioxidant cofactors: alpha and beta carotene; beta cryptoxanthin; lutein; lycopene; vitamins A, C, and E; iron; and zinc. During the study, the participants underwent 1-2 eye examinations designed to diagnose AMD. The researchers adjusted their analyses for age, sex, body mass index, known as a measure of weight in relation to height, smoking status, blood pressure, cholesterol level, atherosclerosis score known as a measure of fatty buildup in the arteries, and alcohol intake. During the study, 560 (13.4%) of the participants were diagnosed with AMD. Higher Vitamin E and zinc intakes were associated with a reduced risk of AMD. Having an above-average intake of the combination of Vitamins C and E, beta carotene, and zinc was associated with a thirty five percent reduced risk of AMD. These findings are limited because nutrient intake was based on a food frequency questionnaire, which is subject to error.

So how Does This Affect You?

This study suggests that diet affects vision, at least in the long term. Increasing your intake of beta carotene, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and zinc while your vision is good may help prevent AMD later. Beta carotene is found in carrots, kale, and spinach; vitamin C-rich foods include citrus fruits and juices, green peppers, broccoli, and potatoes; Vitamin E can be obtained from whole grains, vegetable oil, eggs, and nuts; and high concentrations of zinc are found in meat, poultry, fish, whole grains, and dairy products. You may also want to consider vitamin supplementation to increase levels of these antioxidants in your body. Symptoms of AMD include seeing blurred words on a page, a dark or empty area in the center of vision and distorted straight lines. If you have any of these symptoms, you should consult with an ophthalmologist, who can diagnose and treat AMD if necessary.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com April 29, 2012 - 3:27 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop and Your Longevity http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop-and-your-longevity
Also seen at Tomorrows Home Business Community

In Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop we have been discussing the foundation of business. But as my training to run the Boilermaker Road Race begins, I am constantly reminded the benefits of exercising and good health. It is not just what you eat, but what you do with your energy that can really determine the level of health you have. Sometimes, even your mortality.

As seen in a recent article I have read, the benefits of burning calories and longevity are closely related. For years we heard that physical activity is good for us. Most researchers studying the effects of exercise consider activities such as jogging, swimming, even mowing the lawn and vacuuming. But do less obvious physical activities, such as fidgeting, also help increase longevity? In the Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers measured the effects of all physical activity on risk of death in older adults. They found that men and women who used up the most energy, through any type of activity, had a significantly lower risk of death than those who expended the least energy.

So now we get into the Study. The researchers recruited 302 men and women, ages 70-82, who could independently perform daily activities, walk at least 0.4 kilometers or a quarter mile, and climb at least ten stairs without difficulty. For one week, the study participants recorded how often and for how long they participated in physical activities such as walking, climbing stairs, or working for pay. At the beginning of the study, and then two weeks later, the researchers measured the study participants daily energy expenditure otherwise known as the number of calories they burned. They calculated energy expenditure by measuring the amount of carbon dioxide present in urine samples taken after the study subjects drank a special type of water. Over an average follow up period of 6.15 years, the researchers analyzed the relationship between daily energy expenditure and death, taking several factors that could affect longevity, such as age, weight, body mass index, health conditions like cardiovascular disease and diabetes, and smoking status into account. The one third of study participants with the highest daily energy expenditure had a 69% lower risk of death compared to the one third of study participants with the lowest daily energy expenditure. Every additional 287 calories burned per day corresponded with a 30% lower risk of death. Calories burned by traditional physical activity only accounted for some, but not all, of the difference in the amount of energy used between those with the highest and lowest daily energy expenditures.

So how Does This Affect You?

This study found that individuals who burned the most calories every day, through any kind of activity, had a significantly lower risk of death than individuals who burned the fewest calories every day.

Through middle age, some of us strive to exercise regularly in hopes of enjoying a long and healthy life. But as we enter our 70s and 80s, it can become more difficult to play tennis, go for a jog or enjoy a leisurely bike ride. But what this study suggests is that any and all activities, not just exercise, can influence longevity. As you age, try to find ways to constantly introduce light activities into your day. For example, you can walk around the house while you talk on the phone, wash your dishes by hand instead of using the dishwasher, or pretend to conduct an orchestra as you listen to the radio. But I have not been talking enough about staying consistent when you start working on your business.

You see, hardly does ever someone hit a home run when beginning a business. It can happen. But most of the time, there are adjustments to make due to unforeseen circumstances that you may not have envisioned as obstacles when you initially got started. So one benefit that is so important about being consistent aside from making money, is that is when you really begin to learn from your mistakes. I do not care how good you are at marketing and selling. It does not matter what your product is, even considering it is something the masses need. Ultimately, you will have come upon some of those unforeseen obstacles and be forced to rethink your marketing strategy.

But this is not a bad thing.

You see every one who has been in business has been beaten up a little to say the least. In boxing, we used to see guys brag about how they have not lost a fight, or even felt threatened in any round that they have been in. There was one thing we could always count on, the guy has not been fighting long. Because in boxing, just like marketing your business, you will find times where you may be losing so to speak.

But the beauty about marketing Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop is that any mistake I make in business, I usually can fix quickly and not have to endure the physical break down like losing a fight. Being consistent in your business will make you sharp, and somewhat tougher obstacles are handled much quicker when you are consistently active. Just remind yourself daily how important it is to be consistent. Take action regularly and watch your business grow.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com April 25, 2012 - 2:22 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop and The Weather http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop-and-the-weather
Today at Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop I was having thoughts about the weather and how it can apply to your own personal business. Whether you are enjoying the sun, or cursing the rain, opportunities can be spotted in both scenarios. Living in the Catskill region of upstate New York, I am able to enjoy all the seasons. Fall is my favorite with all the different color schemes you see on the trees in the mountains. But this time of year, anybody who lives in the area can tell you how wet and raining it can become.

Today is one of those days.

The rain started a couple days ago, and I am told will continue for the rest of the week. Not that I can complain, we have had some great weather this winter and need the rain, and normally the weather is quite nice. But with the rain, a lot of people slow down with their outdoor activities. Makes sense right? Who wants to get soaked outside when one can relax indoors?

I can not help but draw a parallel with the weather and business. Usually when things are slow a lot of folks mimic their surroundings and slow down with their activity.

As I am working on Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop, I realize today is a perfect day to optimize my web site with the proper meta tags and meta description. Along with some web site configuring to allow Google and other search engines to easily index my site to keyword driven phrases, I know I could not be more productive on a rainy day. So in some ways, while it is one of those lazy, hang around inside the house days, a lot could be done to make my business grow. Perhaps you have some slightly nagging issues, that will not go away with nicer weather. A rainy day like this could be your best opportunity to rid yourself of future chores, and be able to enjoy the weather that much better when the sun comes out.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com April 23, 2012 - 3:56 am Starting Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/starting-doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop
Also seen at Tomorrows Home Business Community

As I get started getting my Vitamin Shop up and running, several thoughts entered my mind concerning how I am going to make this a profitable business. One thought occurred to me, and I remember myself thinking those dreaded words...Maybe I am not ready. Crazy, I know, but at the same time one can not help but try to evaluate between something that may be a work in progress and something that is not realistic. On the other hand, it is always best to error on the side of being positive.

I mean look at any situation.

If all we engaged in were things that we were always ready for, our personal growth would come to a stand still. In business, just like sports, sometimes one must evolve into a situation and not wait until everything is perfect. Because as we all know, perfection does not exist in our imperfect world. So I guess what I am saying is after thinking about whether or not I may be ready to create such a business, I started to wonder how important that concern really was. All great athletes or business people have had to have been placed in situations that forced them to grow, or fail. Fear is a huge motivator, and for many of the people that excel in this world have had to work beyond their own means and allow a situation that would normally break them, force them to grow.

So in knowing this, I realize my Vitamin Shop will take time to look like and have the features that I want it to have to be successful. In the meantime, I will just put forth the effort and watch it evolve and grow. If you have ever had similar thoughts about starting your own business, but wanted to wait to make sure everything is in place, I urge you to take the first step now. That is because if you wait until you have the ideal situation, your opportunity may have past you by. Or even just as bad, come to terms that if you started earlier when things were not perfect, you would be in such a better place now.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com April 21, 2012 - 1:34 am Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-s-vitamin-shop
There are a few times in business that you are shown an alternative to conducting your business, and possibly make more money. Is that not what many of us are looking for? A way to align yourself with your business in such a fashion that your true interests and knowledge can be conducive to growing your own business. What I am getting at is in the past I have been conducting a marketing plan focused on selling creatine monohydrate. Creatine is an exceptional product, and from daily blogging I have found my web site climbing the search engine ranks in Google.

As I was marketing this product, I realized I had more interests in selling other nutritional supplements, such as vitamins. Every one of us needs to ingest the proper amount of vitamins and minerals to sustain a healthy lifestyle. Many of us who are active typically need more of these vitamins to heal properly from our active lifestyle, and continue to either grow or keep up what we are doing. So as my interest grew in selling Vitamins and Supplements, I spoke with a marketing partner of mine named Terry Allison. We bounced some ideas off each other along with some keyword phrases that seemed appropriate, and I conducted my research.

As I did my research, I found some worthwhile keywords that we did not think of at the time, which demonstrates the importance of proper keyword research. But as I did more work I felt very comfortable with this topic due to the fact that I work in a hospital. Mostly seen in rounds in the I.C.U., where we "round" on a particular patient and talk about their needs from adequate oxygenation to the importance of proper nutrition.

At the completion of my research, I am announcing the opening of Doug Mitchell's Vitamin Shop.

Although I am still in the process of building this site, here you will be able to browse around and check out many different nutritional supplements and vitamins. It is my goal to assist anyone looking to enjoy a better life through proper nutrition. As my campaign moves forward and my business grows, I will keep you all posted on my progress through my blog or e-mail if you choose to subscribe. I still work with James Eckburg and Terry Allison with our Veretekk Marketing Systems, and am willing to show anyone the benefits of Veretekk which has allowed me to obtain high rankings in previous search engine optimization campaigns. With any sport, golf especially, you realize the importance of taking care of your body. In many other sports you are considered old once you reach your mid thirties. But in contrast, golfers get to recreate themselves and their games.

One particular golfer that comes to mind is Tiger Woods. He has been the most polarizing golfer of our time. Regardless if you love him or hate him, one can not disagree that he brings a lot of attention to himself from his ability on the golf course and decisions off the course. But from a purely physical standpoint, the guy has had several surgeries on the same knee, and an Achilles issue a few tournaments back that made him opt out of finishing the weekend. I am sure many of these pros take their vitamins and supplements to recover quickly from the physical stress during their rounds, but it will be interesting to see how everything plays out. Even if Woods is able to finish the match, which I am sure everyone assumes he will do, there is a lot of younger, healthier guys out there that he has to contend with.

So looking at it from a purely physical standpoint, that is one thing I am interested in watching this weekend. I do hope there are no injuries to any of the golfers as I am told at least one golfer is out of the tournament due to an injury, as golf or any sport is most entertaining when all participants are at their physical best. Regardless of what physical endeavors you participate in, do not forget the benefits of proper supplementation. Your body will reward you with good health.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com April 06, 2012 - 3:34 am Changes in Business with Doug Mitchell http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/changes-in-business-doug-mitchell
When discussing business, there are no clear paths to success. Every person who goes through any business experience realizes quickly that their own unique path may need some tweaking. This is done only after proper research and testing is done to ensure that the individual business goals are met. I experienced the same kind of process with training for my road race.

I have plenty of time to train and train correctly since the race is over three months out. However there are many different ways to go about it, to ensure I will be ready for the competition. For example, the last time I ran the Boilermaker road race was years ago, and I was about ten to twenty pounds lighter. While I discussed my situation with runners, real runners who are experienced the told me to cut weight before I train. This sounded quite difficult due to the fact that one great way to cut weight was to run, something I was told not to do. The reason for not putting on the running shoes so quickly is to prevent injury to my knees, ankles, and their surrounding connective tissue. You see the heavier I am the more likely I can be injured, so I had to improvise today.

I started out on a standard cycling unit at the local gym. There I was able to have an incredible cardiovascular workout without putting any shock or stress on the joints. I have never really tried to use a bike before for exercise, usually only running or walking was my routine for cardiovascular training. But interestingly enough, it worked very well, and now I have a way to cut some weight safely before I actually begin training.

This is no different in business.

You may not be able to achieve a specific goal one way, but there are always alternatives. How do I obtain more customers or generate more revenue are questions that have many different answers for the people asking, but in my business I found the tools in Veretekk very helpful. Veretekk is a total package for anyone looking to advertise their business online. Just like the dilemma with my training, your own business may need to be worked in a different manner to meet your business goals. Feel free to check out Veretekk, and see how you can carefully and methodically build your business.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com April 04, 2012 - 5:03 am Health and Wellness and Running Your Business http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/health-and-wellness-and-running-your-business
Also seen at Tomorrows Home Business Community

I have recently noticed how much Health and Wellness have so much in common with running a business. There are diligent steps one must take when pursuing good health and running a stable business. One particular facet of health that reminds me of a stable business foundation is training. I have just signed up for the largest fifteen kilometer road race in America called The Boilermaker. By largest I mean the most participants, or runners. I have run this race before and I think the largest group we had were under fourteen thousand runners. Anything beyond that point and you risk injury, as I remember when they had so many people running, I caught a few inadvertent heels and elbows in the beginning before the race spread out.

Now I am not a long distance runner looking to break a certain time limit, basically just doing his for the fun and the after race party with family and friends afterward. This is a huge annual event in Utica, New York where I grew up. But back to my point of the similarities of training and running a business. I usually like to give myself a couple months to fully train and allow my body to get used to the workload of running over nine miles without injuring myself. Similarly, with my online business, I begin a campaign with keyword research. Depending upon what I am looking to do, essentially determines what keywords I will start out with. And just like jogging, once my keywords are selected, I will compose a specific keyword related post daily to elevate my blog to a higher position in Google and other search engines.

Training my business and myself will take dedication and perseverance. What this all amounts to is just being consistent. As it is said a body at rest tends to stay at rest, a body in motion tends to stay in motion. So with knowing that, clearly it is a no brainer to integrate both my training and my blogging campaign into my daily method of operation. I will keep you posted on my quest and look forward to talking with you soon.

Your Health and Wellness Advisor

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com April 02, 2012 - 4:01 am Changes in Business http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/doug-mitchell-changes-in-business
I am reminded frequently how similar sports are to life. They both require consistent active discipline to achieve goals, and both require a focus and mental drive to constantly work at those goals. But there are times when you have to assess your activities and determine if your method of operation is bringing you closer to or taking you further away from achieving your goals. For example, I was talking the other day with my friend Terry Allison who created Tomorrows Home Business about some of the sports I have been involved with, and he reminded me how similar they were to real life situations. Years ago I was an amateur boxer. The sport was very vigorous to say the least. We would run miles almost every day, and constantly spar to develop technique and pain tolerance. I was not the best at boxing, but my determination kept me in many of fights.

I was telling Terry about a routine we would go through called the shark tank. What the shark tank comprised of was four guys in the ring at their respective corners. Now whoever was training that day would go a round with each guy separately for a total of three rounds. These were brutal sessions and they were not designed to be competitive, rather exhaust a fighter and have them compete with someone fresh to build their stamina. One particularly effective tweak would be to have a guy much lighter than me spar to get me used to speed and conversely have a guy much heavier than me spar to get used to being shoved around by someone much stronger than myself. Again, these drills were not to go all out, but to hone your technique, speed and strength. Well, this particular day my heavy was a guy just interested in pounding on someone. He did not have much technique and was getting the wrong idea of what training was. He was my third round and I was fatigued. He took advantage of my weakness and threw hay maker after hay maker with right hands that put me on the canvass for what seemed like a while. I got up, and one of the trainers witnessing told me my session was over and sent the other guy out of the ring, for what he said was not training. Later I found myself with headaches and dizziness.

Luckily, I did have some guidance. My sister and brother in law came to town after their service in the Marines, and showed me how to get into college with financial aid and school loans even though they were using their G.I. bill. I wanted to continue boxing, but the headaches became worse as days and months went by. During that time I also realized that the trainers were not spending a lot of time with me to prepare like they used to. I was told because I was in college, they saw me as someone who had an out and they did not want to waste there time with someone who could leave them and not go pro. Most of the other kids at that time at the gym were inner city kids who had nobody to really show them anything other than boxing, and therefore were a safer bet to train to go pro. The gym was state funded, so they had to produce fighters to qualify for money. I really wanted to box, but I had to evaluate my health and the risks of training sloppy without the needed supervision.

The reason I am brining all this up is I learned that to continue with this dangerous activity even though I loved it, was possibly taking me from my goal of being a competent professional in whatever I was choosing to do. My friend Terry was enjoying the story and reminded me of how that parallels with marketing and life. It took me a second to get his point but when I did, wanted to share it with all of you. It is that no matter what business you may be involved with, business, just like life and sports have a certain set of rules to abide by. You must evaluate your progress and be sure you are heading in the right direction. If, for example you are not getting the results you may want in your business life, do not despair. You are welcome to look into My Business and see how the good people I am involved with may assist you in achieving your own personal business goals. I still have a lot to learn, but feel I am on the right track. I am glad I made the decision I did, and look forward to helping many of you do the same in your own individual situations.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com April 01, 2012 - 3:21 am What is Creatine and What Does Creatine Do http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-and-what-does-creatine-do
What is Creatine and what does creatine do? When a person starts out taking creatine, they will notice the greatest amount of size and strength gains in the first couple of months. There have been studies that show a significant increase in body mass. However, there has been speculation that this is mostly a water gain rather than a muscle gain. That is, creatine has a cell expanding property which volumizes or expands cells. When additional creatine enters the muscle, it brings water along with it. This additional fluid actually expands your muscles giving them a full or pumped look. True, there is some water gain but over time, this becomes a true muscle gain. How are you not going to gain more muscle when your muscles are getting stronger?

Scientists now believe that this gain is not a water gain but a muscle gain. Why are we now thinking this? One factor that can be responsible for an increase in lean mass is that when large amount of creatine is taken, the amino acids needed to make creatine are now available in surplus amounts for other anabolic functions. This means that these amino acids are available for other functions. We know that Creatine is derived from these non essential amino acids. Meaning, your body produces them naturally, but not in a significant quantity.

One fact remains, if you've been taking creatine for over a couple of months and stop taking it, you will lose the cell volumizing effects and the water gain but you won't lose the muscle you've earned. Muscle takes time to build and over time, and as you get stronger the size will come. You will not lose this gain if you keep on training once you stop taking creatine. The trick is to focus on muscle growth which makes calories, many from protein, and sleep essential.

Your Health and Wellness Advisor

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com March 27, 2012 - 2:04 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-17
Also posted at Tomorrows Home Business Community
What is Creatine?
Creatine is a metabolite that is produced naturally by the human body. Despite all this, many people do not believe that there is substantial evidence to prove that creatine or any other nutritional supplement produces effects that can be obtained with proper diet, exercise, and training. However, if you have ever used this product, many of you can agree that it is very effective in helping you train longer and harder.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com March 26, 2012 - 3:34 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-16
What is Creatine also seen at Tomorrows Home Business
Creatine can help give that extra little burst of ATP that might get you through the set. Whether it increases musculature and permanent strength is unclear. The added reps it can help you pump out might confer some benefits, like signaling your genes to synthesize more protein and grow more muscle, but it gets murky when you consider that creatine supplements are cell volumizers that cause water retention in the muscles.

Although bodybuilders and other athletes looking for puffy bulk over performance might find some use in Creatine Supplementation, most people who value performance over illusory size are probably getting plenty of creatine through dietary means like meat, fish, fowl. The increased muscle fluid absorption can even result in muscle cramps and in dehydration for the rest of the body, so I would actually advise against too much creatine for dedicated athletes. I have tried creatine before, using a six week on six week off cycle so as not to get acclimated to it, and I definitely experienced the slight increase in capacity. It actually lives up to its hype. Indeed, a recent review of twenty two studies found that, when used in conjunction with weight training, creatine can boost strength gains by up to eight percent. But that is not the only way it can do the body good. Here are four more reasons to add it to your fitness plan. Make up for lost sleep. Creatine helps supply energy to every cell in the body, including those in the brain. Sleep deprivation, however, can cause the brains creatine stores to plummet, leading to mental fatigue unless you replace them through supplementation. Now nothing replaces sleep, but to enhance and repair creatine levels in your brain, supplementation is helpful. That is what a team of British white coats found when they fed creatine to a group of rugby players ninety minutes before a match. Consider it a field test for real world results.

Also Creatine can combat muscle pain. For all the life saving benefits of statins, there is at least one potential drawback, Muscle pain. Eighteen percent of statin users suffer from it, but taking just five grams of creatine a day can significantly ease the ache, according to a recent study at the Cleveland Clinic. The researchers suggest that supplementation can boost muscle creatine stores reduced by statins, which block the transport of the substance into cells, impairing energy production and triggering pain.

Creatine can also turn back the clock. By adding creatine to facial cream can improve the firmness of skin by boosting collagen production, according to German researchers. So creatine has been shown to have benefits when used as a topical agent. You will also recover faster when training hard. This is only half of the muscle building equation. Adequate rest is the other. Ignore the latter half and you will quickly reach a training plateau unless you supplement with creatine, according to researchers at the Human Performance Laboratory at the University of Connecticut. In their study, subjects who supplemented with five grams of creatine per day were able to pack on three pounds more muscle than those who did not. Despite the fact that both groups trained beyond their capacity to recover. The bottom line is Creatine can help you train harder and more often, accelerating your gains.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 21, 2012 - 3:13 am What is Creatine and How Does it Work in Your Body http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-and-how-does-it-work-in-your-body

What is Creatine and how does it work in your body? Your body stores Creatine, and like any energy storage needs to be restocked for your next workout. The amount of creatine that is in your body is limited, however so additional supplementation beyond this capacity cannot be used. It is like overflowing a well of water. You need to constantly be feeding yourself small to moderate amounts of creatine daily to avoid lapses, or deficiencies in the creatine content in your muscles. Creatine can be made in the body, but it is also available in the foods we eat, particularly beef. That is why many people choose to consume a lot of meat when on a training regiment.

Creatine Supplements and your ability to exercise longer show that when supplementation is done correctly, you are able to workout longer and harder. The goal of creatine supplementation is to increase muscle phosphocreatine and make more ATP available to fuel the working muscles. This improves an athlete's ability to perform repeated bouts of short, high intensity exercise before becoming fatigued. Optimal creatine supplementation seems to include a loading phase for about four days followed by a reduced maintenance phase. I have never been a big fan of the loading phase as I said in the past. I feel the major reason the loading phase became so popular is because it is in the best interest of the supplementation company to sell as much creatine as possible. This loading phase allows the company to sell four to five times as much causing the consumer to purchase more creatine. Individuals have varying responses to creatine depending upon their personal needs. This is a fact.

I have benefited form small amounts of Creatine, roughly three to five grams daily and have seen my progress grow in the weight room. Just about every guy in the gym who takes any workout supplements has Creatine at the top of the list. But what is creatine and how does it actually work? How does it get you strong? Creatine is a substance that is produced from amino acids in the liver and kidneys at about a rate of two grams per day.

Creatine is naturally occurring, and is derived from three non essential amino acids. Basically, ninety to ninety five percent of the creatine in your body travels to the muscles, heart, and other body cells via the blood stream. However, a large majority of this creatine is stored in skeletal muscle. That is true for many other animals as well. That is why you can get additional creatine from red meat and fish. But what creatine does is help your body recover from tough workouts.

What is more amazing is creatine has the ability to increase energy when you workout as well. The energy comes in a few different ways. Actually creatine starts to help you in your workouts by increasing your ATP cycle. This is a chemical reaction in your body whenever you physically exert yourself. Creatine helps this reaction continue faster and for a longer period of time.

This allows you to stay in the gym longer, and get those few extra reps out that you normally would by too exhausted to perform. Another way creatine helps you is in the muscle cells. Intracellular fluid, as it is called increases and gives you that pump everyone who has lifted a weight experienced. This allows the muscle to be fed and hydrated while being exerted to have maximum performance. If you have ever considered trying Creatine, do your research and start with a small dosage, roughly two to five grams a day. Creatine is matter in pure form. But what has been a commonly used practice with Creatine in the past is the loading phase. A popular way of creatine use that has been proven to work is that of creatine loading. For the first few days of supplementing with creatine you load up with a very high dosage to saturate your muscles with creatine.

The point of this loading phase is to get a lot of Creatine to your muscles quickly so that your body can start using it faster. For loading you should be taking twenty to twenty five grams per day split up into two to four servings, for the first four to seven days of using a creatine supplement. For example if you choose to take twenty grams a day for your loading, you could take four servings of creatine throughout the day consisting of five grams. But is loading with creatine really necessary? It's a constantly debated topic amongst bodybuilders. Some say you need to load up, and some say it won't help you. The good thing to know is that it doesn't really matter either way, as studies over the years have proved that both a loading and non loading approach to taking creatine is effective.

But this is my point. If it does not show a benefit either way, why put your kidneys through a task that requires much energy for no real benefit? I have never been a big proponent of loading with creatine. It was always my assumtion that you just urinate the excess out. They say that Creatine loading will speed up your body's ability to use that creatine, meaning faster results. However studies have shown that over a longer period of time such as a month or two, if you simply take a small creatine dosage daily and eliminate the loading phase you will get the same results. So whether you load or not doesn't really matter in the end. You can save some bucks by not loading, but you won't experience results as fast. And you will be doing your kidneys a favor.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 17, 2012 - 12:43 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-used-for
What is Creatine
Since it has exploded onto the health and fitness world, many people are asking what is Creatine? I have taken Creatine on and off for years when competing in athletic events and saw my performance improve. This was due to my ability to endure my natural energy threshold, and continue my efforts based on what I was competing for. The fact is your muscles have Creatine in them. The body only produces and stores a certain amount at a time. If your levels are good, using Creatine will have little to no affect. But one would have to consume many of the foods that contain Creatine in large amounts frequently.

I honestly believe if you are truly pushing yourself, your Creatine stores can never be enough without supplementation. Creatine basically helps your muscles recover and grow by assisting in transporting blood and nutrients to the muscles better. This is done because Creatine helps in retaining fluids in the muscles. So lower than optimal Creatine levels will cause you to have more soreness, slower recovery and fatigue much sooner when exercising. I used Creatine for a while but saw huge benefits, and I was already eating large amounts of red meat, tuna, chicken and other protein, Creatine rich foods. Others I know saw benefits to. Whether they recovered quicker and felt stronger, many of my training partners used Creatine and enjoyed the benefits.

Using large doses of Creatine is useless since anything above the optimal levels is just literally urinated away. That is why I have never been a big fan of the loading phase that is spoken of when you consume up to four times as much Creatine in the first stage of using it. Your muscles only store so much at a time and it is depleted over time as you exercise and become fatigued. Dosing helps to restore the levels back to normal a bit quicker thus assisting with recovery. I hope this has been a beneficial topic, and assists you in achieving your athletic and personal goals for fitness.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 16, 2012 - 11:03 am What is Creatine Monohydrate? http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-monohydrate-3
What is Creatine Monohydrate
<meta name="Description" content="What is Creatine? I am going to tell you about creatine and how it works in my own way, and how it worked for me. Creatine is created within the human body from combination of amino acids. Most people have one hundred and twenty grams of creatine stored in their body as a phosphate and some foods contain amount of creatine like beef and salmon. To consume creatine you must eat these foods. Creatine is connected to Adenosine Triphosphate or ATP. The power house of a cell is form and created in ATP. Sometimes ATP is called the universal molecule.

Creatine works by helping to generate energy in your cells and your body’s cells begin to stop producing energy. If you've ever taken a in depth science class, you would have heard it works within the cell, specifically the mitochondria. Creatine gives your cell a molecule that is needed to start making energy again because the more creatine you have in your system, the faster these regeneration processes occur. This is the reason why so many athletes and body builders have used this thing called creatine. The athlete does not fatigue as fast during grueling exercise. When it is used in sports such as sprinting and lifting heavy weights, the athletes can generate energy faster. It says that taking a creatine before a sports event can provide more and longer lasting energy. Creatine is also used in sports that required endurance like swimming, running and marathons. Some research has shown a little benefit and some has shown no increase.

Creatine can usually be found in form of powder and liquid and has been found to increase strength and their muscle mass. These studies were concluded with younger adults. One concern with older adults is they lose their primary muscle mass as they get older. This can be a huge benefit to the aging population as to slow debilitating diseases that occur with muscle loss. Creatine has many uses and promises that has still not been enough testing done to rule one negative side effect. This is because it is such a new and developing supplement. But it is not to say that it has a place among the best workout supplements.

Your Health and Wellness Specialist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 13, 2012 - 6:49 am What is Creatine Monohydrate among the top bodybuilding supplements http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-monohydrate-among-the-top-bodybuilding

What is Creatine Monohydrate among the top bodybuilding supplements
<meta name="Description" content="What is Creatine you may ask. How does it work, you may ask. No supplement is magic. But some are much better than others to safely build muscle mass and strength, while burning fat and keeping you fit. Creatine is only there to enhance your already existing training and nutritional program. Meaning you must consume protein and other nutrients to keep your body healing form the grueling workouts Creatine helps you endure. If you do not already have a good diet and training program in place, it will not help. Nothing will help for that matter. Understand that creatine is a strength supplement. It is not a fat loss supplement. Although it has been proven all things considered equal, the person that has more muscle mass burns more fat during exercise and at rest.

Creatine is used to increase your muscles work capacity. It allows you to lift more weight, longer. Which will lead to more muscle gain, over time. In addition, a bonus of taking creatine is it has cell volumizing effects. When creatine is stored in the muscles, it also brings along extra water. This extra intracellular fluid expands your muscle volume, giving your muscles a more full, pumped look. Make no mistake, this is not water weight. Water weight is stored just under the skin, giving you a bloated look. The extra fluids creatine brings into the muscles are stored within the cells themselves, making them larger.

If you discontinue using creatine, this cell volumizing effect will disappear and any weight you gained, which sometimes is extra water is lost because of that effect will be lost. However, any muscle you gained as a result of taking Creatine will not be lost if you discontinue using the product. This is where many people get confused. Remember, the cell volumization will happen quickly usually within the first week, but the muscle gains will take longer to appear and will come as a result of your increased strength levels. More strength equals more weight lifted more weight lifted equals more muscle mass. It's simple math, and a benefit to you.

Your Health and Wellness Strategist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 12, 2012 - 2:09 am What is Creatine Monohydrate Good For http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-monohydrate-good-for
What is Creatine Monohydrate Good For

Creatine Monohydrate is good for many things, mainly performance enhancement. But one good question is how much does one need to consume? If you read a bottle of Creatine Monohydrate, most companies recommend a loading phase of twenty grams for five days and five to ten grams thereafter. While that is the commonly accepted way to use it, in my own experimentation I have found no benefit to loading. Many people see it as a way for the supplement companies to make you use more creatine. As a matter of fact, my training partner only took five grams a day after the workout and started getting great results after only a couple of weeks. I tried the same thing and noticed strength and size improvements. The reason for this is simple.

There is only so much Creatine that the body can store. Recall that the creatine is stored every time that you take it. So by taking it every day eventually you will reach the upper levels that provide the performance enhancement. After you reach that level, you could get away with just taking it on your weight training days as it takes two weeks of no use for the body's creatine levels to get back to normal. Another point to talk about is the issue of cycling creatine. If creatine would be a supplement that loses its effectiveness as time goes by then I would recommend cycling. For example, it is beneficial to cycle fat burning supplements containing caffeine and ephedrine as the bodys receptors begin to attenuate after two to three weeks of continual use. Once the body gets used to them, you need to either increase the dosage or stop their use so that the body begins to respond once again.

However, that is not the way that Creatine works. Basically, creatine gets stored into your muscles and you get the effects mentioned above, period. It is really straightforward. As far as the initial weight gain that you may experience when you start taking it, whether you cycle it or not, you will get the same amount of initial weight gain as that extra weight is determined by the amount of intracellular fluid retention that your muscle cells can store. Something that remains a static figure. The reason I say the weight gain that you may experience is because if once you start taking it you also increase the volume of your workouts and remain at the same caloric intake level you may lose fat as you gain your added muscle volume and because of that the scale might not register any weight gain.

This is what happened to me during my cycles with Creatine. However, the lack of registered initial weight gain by the scale does not mean that you are a non responder. To gauge creatines efficacy on you judge it by the muscle appearance effects and the performance enhancement in the gym. So as a rule of thumb, I would start out slow with about five grams of creatine a day and adjust it accordingly until you feel like you are getting the most out of your workouts.

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 11, 2012 - 1:02 am What is Creatine Monohydrate http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-monohydrate-1

What is Creatine Monohydrate
<META name=Keywords content="creatine monohydrate, what is creatine, what is creatine monohydrate, Doug Mitchell, douglasjamesmitchell.com, on creatine, monohydrate creatine, creatine effects, top creatine, creatine supplements, best creatine, best creatine supplement, creatine and protein" <META name=Description content="Many people ask, What is Creatine Monohydrate. There are a lot of different veiws on Creatine, but one thing is certain, it works. When supplements or fitness gurus refer to creatine, they are most often referring to creatine monohydrate. While there are decades of research backing the benefits of creatine usage, the fitness magazine rarely, if ever, provide the real information you need to understand creatine, the effects of creatine and the basics on how to choose the best creatine for your body. By definition, creatine is an organic acid that helps to provide energy to the muscle and nerve cells.

Creatine is said to benefit the muscles greatly for both bodybuilders and those who wish to improve their overall fitness performance . The benefits of creatine include promoting muscle gain, increase the size of muscle fibers, increase muscle mass, increase muscle strength and power, increase physical fitness performance. But many people ask how does creatine work? The science behind the relationship between muscle fibers and creatine is a complex issue. However, the basics are quite easy to understand.

Creatine improves the muscles ability to build by increasing the energy levels inside the muscle. For instance, if a person eats too much food, the body will store fat. The fat is a direct relation to the amount of food present in the body. Now, imagine an over abundance of energy in the muscle. But, this time, the bodybuilder uses this energy to rip and tear the muscle. The muscle looks around and sees the extra energy, provided by the creatine, and rebuilds faster and larger than before. Instead of a fat roll around the mid section of the body, the bodybuilder grows larger in the spots he or she wants to grow larger, the muscles.

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 10, 2012 - 8:45 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-14
What is Creatine
<meta name="Keywords" content=""creatine monohydrate", "what is creatine", "what is creatine monohydrate", "Doug Mitchell", douglasjamesmitchell.com, "on creatine", "monohydrate creatine", "creatine effects", "top creatine", "creatine supplements", "best creatine", "best creatine supplement", "creatine and protein"" /> <meta name="Description" content="Creatine works. Lifters know this, professors know this, the marketers who sell the stuff know this. But nobody should put anything in their body without weighing the benefits and risks first. That goes for everything from beer to marshmallows to the amazing amino acid called creatine. It's not anything scary. It's not a Barry Bonds starter kit. Creatine that is typically bought in flavored powders and mixed with liquid increases the body's ability to produce energy rapidly. With more energy, you can train harder and more often, producing faster results.

It's as simple as this, If you can lift one or two more reps or 5 more pounds, your muscles will get bigger and stronger says Chad Kerksick, Ph.D., assistant professor of exercise physiology at the University of Oklahoma. Research shows that creatine is most effective in high intensity training and explosive activities. This includes weight training and sports that require short bursts of effort, such as sprinting, football, and baseball. There is less support to indicate that creatine improves endurance performance and aerobic type exercise.

Although that may be true, I have seen benefits from Creatine when I compete in fifteen kilometer road races that can take me up to an hour and a half. It will happen quickly, says Paul Greenhaff, Ph.D., professor of muscle metabolism at the University of Nottingham in England. While the initial gain is water about 2 to 4 pounds in the first week of supplementation, subsequent gains are muscle due to the increase in the workload you can handle. For one thing, creatine can significantly increase lean muscle mass in just two weeks. It is also responsible for improving performance in high-intensity exercise, increasing energy levels, and speeding up recovery rates. It’s no wonder athletes who use it have such of an edge over those who do not.

Now when I discovered creatine, I was well out of competitive sports, but I noticed my ability to work out harder and longer. But I see a lot of young athletes improving their performance with its use. Soon nearly every athlete who competes will use it if they don not already. Creatine has the ability to enhance energy reserves in muscles comes from its muscle protein synthesizing action, while minimizing protein breakdown. This occurs because creatine has the awesome effect of super hydrating muscle cells with water. Although it can cause a little bloating, it enhances muscles growth too, by making muscle fibers bigger and stronger.

Quite a few studies have been done on creatine to figure out why and how it works so well. There have been over twenty double blind, meaning neither the researchers nor the subjects knew who was getting what, placebo controlled studies conducted on creatine in the past five years. They proved that creatine increased energy levels, resulting in increased strength, endurance levels, and recovery rates. Another unexpected benefit attributed to creatine was discovered as well, creatine accelerates fat loss, while building lean body mass!

Your Health and Wellness Strategist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 07, 2012 - 4:15 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-11

New Document
<meta name="Keywords" content=""creatine monohydrate", "what is creatine", "what is creatine monohydrate", "Doug Mitchell", douglasjamesmitchell.com, "on creatine", "monohydrate creatine", "creatine effects", "top creatine", "creatine supplements", "best creatine", "best creatine supplement", "creatine and protein" />

What is Creatine?

Creatine is the most popular and effective bodybuilding supplement on the market. Everyone consistently using creatine is making huge, amazing gains! Just like any supplement aside from protein, you must cycle creatine use as so your body does not adapt, and slow it's own process of making creatine. There is one good reason why three out of four of the nineteen ninety six summer Olympic medallists used creatine. Because it works and it works well.

A French scientist first discovered creatine in eighteen thirty two, but it was not until nineteen twenty three that scientists discovered that over ninety five percent of creatine is stored in muscle tissue. The first published report of creatine having bodybuilding effects was The Journal of Biological Chemistry in, get this, nineteen twenty six! Although we have known about creatine for quite some time, the first real use of it to enhance performance was the nineteen ninety two Olympic games in Barcelona, Spain.

So, what is creatine?

Our bodies naturally make the compound, which is used to supply energy to our muscles. It is produced in the liver, pancreas, and kidneys, and is transported to the body’s muscles through the bloodstream. Once it reaches the muscles, it is converted into phosphocreatine otherwise known as creatine phosphate. This high powered metabolite is used to regenerate the muscles ultimate energy source, ATP, or adenosine triphosphate. Think of protein as the building block or engine of the car, and creatine as the gas, or energy to help the motor work at a high level. Unlike steroids or drugs, creatine is one hundred percent natural and occurs naturally in many foods, therefore, it can never be banned from any sports or international competitions unless they banned eating meat.

Sport agencies can try to detect higher than normal levels of creatine in athletes, but the testing would be very difficult. Many foods especially herring, salmon, tuna, and beef contain some creatine. However, the very best source of creatine by far is Creatine Monohydrate because it contains more creatine per weight of material than any other source. So if you are looking for gains that you have never experienced, try Creatine Monohydrate and see how much better your body performs.

Your Health and Wellness Strategist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 06, 2012 - 2:29 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-10

What is Creatine and it's value to you

Manufactured creatine in the form of Creatine Monohydrate can be absorbed from oral supplements and seems to be treated by the body pretty much like natural creatine. How Does Creatine Help you might ask. Fuel for muscles has always been a pressing issue with anyone involved in athletics. Maximizing the muscle stores of creatine seems to enhance the performance of the short, high intensity energy system called the ATP otherwise known as adenosine triphosphate and phosphocreatine system, which is used in shorter exercise bouts up to about twenty seconds.

Supplemental Creatine may provide a reservoir of creatine that is available for replenishing ATP during repeated short training intervals. Weight lifting repetitions and sets mostly fit into this category. In fact, most studies show that creatine is most effective for exercise bouts or events that last less than thirty seconds. Diminished benefits may be available in exercise lasting from thirty seconds to three minutes. Strength and bulk development are first and foremost benefits of supplementing with creatine. Second, creatine may bulk up muscle size and improve strength. Water accumulation in muscle appears to account for some of this bulk and weight gain. Clearly this is of great interest. But I've never had any experience when creatine supplementation did not help me in activities over thirty seconds. It improved my performance in endurance activities as well, only not as much as those with the shorter bursts.

Aside from bodybuilders and strength trainers, creatine has also been found to improve muscle function in the elderly and in individuals suffering from certain muscle diseases. Combining the attributes of size and strength with increased athletic power has made creatine a hot supplement for power sports such as football, baseball, track and field, the big men in basketball and anything else where speed and strength are advantageous. Creatine Has Most Proven Benefits for explosive events like sprinting, jumping and weight lifting.

Much of these benefits may result from creatine supplementation providing the capacity to train harder and more often. Creatine has not shown to be beneficial for less intense endurance sports such as marathon running or cycle road racing. But like I said, even though I did not have the same benefits with endurance activities, they were still present.
Your Health and Wellness Strategist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 05, 2012 - 2:11 pm What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-9

What is Creatine?

What is Creatine to the average person looking to get into better shape and feel stronger? Quite possibly the best bodybuilding supplement to hit the market in the last twenty five years, Creatine or Creatine Monohydrate has been helping people increase muscle mass and strength for their workouts. In the last ten years, creatine has been used extensively, even if mostly by men, and studied substantially, if not comprehensively. Few side effects have been consistently reported from short term use with approved quantities.

Supplementing with Creatine, or the likelihood of it being a health hazard for long term, regular users of creatine is still unknown. Kidney and liver function in creatine users has been studied as a potential target of toxicity, but no consequential effects have been shown to occur at recommended doses in controlled trials. I have always taken less than recommended, due to the supplement companies interest to have their consumer use more Creatine. However, case reports and animal studies suggest possible adverse effects on the kidney.

In one Dutch study with one hundred seventy five subjects, half were given ten grams of creatine each day, which is a lot and the other half, randomly selected, were given a dummy supplement with no creatine for three hundred ten days. No kidney or liver abnormalities were detected. It would be sensible not to take creatine if kidney disease is present or suspected. Some overweight people have chronic, undiagnosed kidney disease, so using creatine in a weight loss or bodybuilding program would probably be unwise for these people. Muscle cramps, water retention and swollen limbs are possible.

In the same Dutch study, swollen limbs were seen more often in the creatine takers, and three individuals in the creatine group had to withdraw because of nausea. But then again, these people were taking over twice the recommended dosages for adult males, ten grams of Creatine Monohydrate. The swollen limbs were attributed to water retention, which is one effect that seems to be established both scientifically and by word of mouth among users. Whether this is an adverse effect is probably best left to each individuals assessment.

I have always taken less than five grams of Creatine per day and have noticed substantial benefits. In another sense it may reflect muscle enlargement or hypertrophy, or more seriously, muscle compartment abnormality. Muscle compartment syndrome is a condition which often affects the lower legs although other areas of the body can be affected. The muscles swell and fill the compartment in which they function, producing abnormal pressure that can result in pain and, at worst, damage to nerves and small blood vessels. Complaints of muscle cramping seem to be widespread, if not epidemic, in the athletic, sports and weight training communities and this may be as a result of excessive water retention and muscle swelling at higher loading doses.

I have never believed in taking a loading dose because of reports that your body will just filter the excess creatine out of your body through the kidneys. These high starter doses are not necessary as you will see in the following discussion on how much to take.
Your Health and Wellness Strategist

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 04, 2012 - 2:16 am What is Creatine Monohydrate http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-monohydrate

What is Creatine Monohydrate has been asked for years about the new supplement that is helping people achieve their fitness goals. Fitness devotees, sports people, weight trainers and bodybuilders are heavy users of supplements, often believing that a particular supplement can give them a performance or health advantage.

Supplement taking has many risks associated with it. Is it safe? Does it work? Is it overpriced? How much should I take? Is the product of pharmaceutical grade to ensure safety and efficacy? Can it react adversely with other medications or supplements? Also, small numbers of individuals in any population can have an unusual or abnormal response to any chemical substance they ingest. Absolute safety, in a pharmacological sense, is not a useful concept. One of the most popular supplements is creatine.

Creatine is a naturally occurring substance, actually made from amino acids and it is found in meats and fish. However, most creatine is made in the body by the liver. Creatine should not be confused with creatinine, a product of creatine and protein metabolism, an excess of which may indicate poor kidney function. Creatine is essential for the production of the fundamental energy unit, ATP otherwise known as adenosine triphosphate. If you don not produce ATP, the body stops functioning, while deficiencies of creatine production result in decreased muscle function.

You can probably see that for athletes and fitness enthusiasts, creatine levels in the body are important. So you can see how valuable Creatine supplementation can be.

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 03, 2012 - 2:24 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-8

<font size=4"" color="">What is creatine, and the difference between vegetarians and non vegetarians.

Creatine is naturally produced in the human body from amino acids primarily in the kidney and liver. It is transported in the blood for use by muscles. Approximately ninety five percent of the human bodies total creatine is located in skeletal muscle. Creatine is not an essential nutrient, meaning it is manufactured in the human body from various proteins. In humans and animals, approximately half of stored creatine originates from food, mainly from meat.

A study, involving eighteen vegetarians and twenty four non vegetarians, on the effect of creatine in vegetarians showed that total creatine was significantly lower than in non vegetarians. Since vegetables do not represent the primary source of creatine, vegetarians can be expected to show lower levels of directly derived muscle creatine. This does make sense, however, the subjects happened to show the same levels after using supplements.

This shows how well and important supplementation works within the body. Given the fact that creatine can be synthesized from the above mentioned amino acids, protein sources rich in these amino acids can be expected to provide adequate capability of native biosynthesis in the human body. But what if you are unable to eat the required amounts of creatine to stay strong? Let's face it, you would have to consume an unbelievable amount of red meat and other creatine rich foods to get the same amount through regular supplementation. This study shows that it is much more efficient to use creatine as a supplement.

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 02, 2012 - 4:54 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-7

Excellent results have been observed in taking Creatine Monohydrate in two different ways. The first way is called loading. This method works very well for anyone who has never taken creatine before. Just as the name implies, it involves loading up or saturating your muscles with creatine. During the first four days to a week, they say take twenty to thirty grams per day. Mix it with non acidic juice or water. Grape juice works well.
After this loading period, it is also said to take a regular intake of between five to fifteen grams per day to keep your muscles saturated since there is no need to over do it. The other method is a more gradual approach to supplementing with creatine monohydrate. Over the course of an extended period, one basically skips the loading phase and just supplements with five to fifteen grams per day, everyday. But personally, I had noticeable results from just under five grams per day of creatine monohydrate, during and after a loading phase.. The best results have been noticed when creatine is combined with a high carbohydrate base, such as dextrose or glucose and taken about one-half hour before training. The best part about creatine, no adverse effects have been reported in any studies.
Creatine is totally safe and effective. Creatine has never been shown harmfully toxic. Nevertheless, just like with anything, it is not recommended to over supplement once your muscles are saturated with creatine, there is no reason to. This means stick to the recommended dosages, and be prepared to experience the very best muscle, strength, energy, and endurance gains possible!
Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

March 01, 2012 - 11:04 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-6

What is Creatine

What is creatine you may ask. Let us get in to some specifics. The science behind creatine supplementation is at every point of every day, the body needs energy. Now, this need is not for the kind of energy you get by drinking coffee or popping a diet pill filled with caffeine. That kind of energy is stimulant in nature, and in no way supports the bodies nutritional energy requirements. The kind of energy we are talking about is ATP energy.
It is this kind of energy produced through the consumption of calories that allows the body to move at all. Without ATP energy, you would not be able to blink an eye, let alone lift a dumbbell! The body derives this energy using different metabolic mechanisms. In all, there are three energy systems responsible for the production of all the ATP energy the body may need. These are the Phosphagen system, glycolosis, and the oxidative system. Each of these systems is being utilized to some degree at every point of every day.
What is creatine, depending on your activity or energy requirements, the body may shift its primary dependence on one particular system. For activities lasting less than five minutes, the phosphagen system is primary. This system provides for quicker replenishment of ATP than any other system. When beginning an intense activity, such as lifting weights, the body is put under extreme energy demands almost immediately. This demand is too great and too rapid to allow glycolosis to provide the ATP. If the body were to rely upon glycolosis at this time, it would hit a brick wall after just a couple of sets. Luckily, the phosphagen system is made for just this kind of situation.
The phosphagen system is so quick and able to meet your intense energy needs because of one compound, Creatine. Creatine is an amazing compound that the body uses to actually recycle ATP energy! In many ways, this action is what makes the phosphagen system so great. Instead of relying upon the production of more ATP energy, the phosphagen system actually takes ADP used ATP and converts it back to ATP! This has many advantages including increased muscular contraction time, allowing you to work out harder before muscle failure. So realize the benefits of creatine supplementation and see the progress in your workouts grow.
Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

February 29, 2012 - 10:16 am What is creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-5

Some studies have shown an increase in lean muscle mass with creatine. One would have to eat a lot of protein to make up the difference one could get from supplementation.

Where are creatine rich foods. A survey of long term use gives the creatine content of several foods. The Mayo Clinic states that creatine has been associated with asthmatic symptoms and warns against consumption by persons with known allergies as this would be fitting for any supplement. While there was once some concern that creatine supplementation could affect hydration status and heat tolerance and lead to muscle cramping and diarrhea, recent studies have shown these concerns to be unfounded.

There are reports of kidney damage with creatine use, such as interstitial nephritis and patients with kidney disease should avoid use of this supplement. In similar manner, liver function may be altered, and caution is advised in those with underlying liver disease although studies have shown little or no adverse impact on kidney or liver function from oral creatine supplementation. In Two Thousand Four the European Food Safety Authority published a record which stated that oral long term intake of 3 grams of pure creatine per day is risk free.

The reports of damage to the kidneys by creatine supplementation have been scientifically refuted. Long term administration of large quantities of creatine is reported to increase the production of formaldehyde, which has the potential to cause serious unwanted side effects. However, this risk is largely theoretical because urinary excretion of formaldehyde, even under heavy creatine supplementation, does not exceed normal limits.

Extensive research over the last decade has shown that oral creatine supplementation at a rate of five to twenty grams per day appears to be very safe and largely devoid of adverse side effects, while at the same time effectively improving the physiological response to resistance exercise, increasing the maximal force production of muscles in both men and women.

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

February 27, 2012 - 10:25 am What is Creatine | Creatine Monohydrate http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-creatine-monohydrate

Doug Mitchell Healthy Body Specialist

What is Creatine

What is creatine you purchase as a supplement compared to creatine you have naturally produced in your body? Creatine supplementation simply takes a natural process to the next level by allowing one to consume more creatine than he or she could via a normal diet. In essence, what the athletic community was waiting for was the development of an inexpensive way of mass-producing creatine in the laboratory for human consumption, which happened approximately one decade ago.

What is Creatine without the advent of efficient commercial synthesis helping creatine monohydrate exploding onto the scene? In the year 2000 alone 2,500 metric tons or 5.5 million pounds of creatine were sold worldwide while consumer demand continued to swell. During the height of the Creatine Boom it seemed as if everyone was trying to get in on the action. Creatine manufacturers started appearing in some of the least expected regions of the world. Creatine monohydrate is by far the most commonly used form of synthetically derived creatine. Accordingly, the vast majority of scientific studies examining the effects of creatine have employed the monohydrate salt.

What is Creatine compared to other synthetic forms of creatine including creatine ethyl ester, creatine pyruvate, creatine citrate, dicreatine citrate, creatine malate, and creatine phosphate? Unfortunately, much less is known about the true efficacy of these alternative forms of creatine, as they have not been the topic of scientific study.

Rumors about creatine abound and often stem from the public confusing creatine with anabolic steroids and not from factual occurrences. On the other hand, some unexplained side effects may be real, but may have escaped detection in the scientific arena. Unsubstantiated side effects sometimes attributed to creatine use include increased aggressiveness, anxiety, acne, male breast formation otherwise known as gynecomastia, hair loss in men and body hair growth in women. Of these, aggressiveness, acne and hair loss are the most frequently reported. But because the the fact that creatine is not a steroid and has not been reported to effect the pituitary gland, I have trouble believing the validaty of such claims.

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

February 26, 2012 - 4:15 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-3

The research suggests that creatine may provide some benefit in improving performance in high-intensity, short-duration activities such as weight lifting and sprinting. I know about creatine and what is creatine because I have used it.

Creatine increases production of ATP, an energy source for muscles during brief, explosive periods of activity. These are typically activities such as power lifting or heavy weight training to promote strength and power. It hasn't been found, however, to help with aerobic or endurance sports such as marathon running. Although I have not done marathon running, I have noticed the benefits of creatine with when running several miles.

Creatine may also decrease muscle fatigue. It appears to reduce lactic acid, an energy waste product that causes muscle fatigue. This makes you stronger longer. More research is needed on the effectiveness of creatine. But one thing is for sure. It works if you do. Excess creatine is removed by the kidneys, so some experts question the use of creatine supplements in people with sufficient levels of creatine in their muscles.

Creatine is extremely popular with athletes and bodybuilders, many of whom consider it to have similar effects as anabolic steroids without the side effects. I have personally used creatine and have benefited size and strength gains without hormonal imbalances and their effects, such as acne or unusual hair growth. It hasn't been banned by many athletic associations. Still, some organizations question whether it's ethical to permit athletes to take a supplement that could potentially enhance performance. But the same can be said about athletes years ago taking sugar or salt pills.

The technology with supplements has improved, so there is a lot of disagreement on the ethics of supplementing with creatine for competitive sports. Others have expressed concern that use of performance-enhancing supplements could lead to the use of other potentially risky supplements and drugs. But that is always up to the person taking supplements.

We ultimately all decide what to put in our bodies, but with the benefits outweighing the adverse effects, I would not consider creatine or creatine monohydrate a risky supplement.

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

February 25, 2012 - 3:20 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-2

When considering what is creatine, we should look to compare the difference between traditional growth and growth with creatine supplementation. The muscle growth that results from traditional training without creatine or protein supplementation is a relatively slow process. Muscle growth in this instance takes weeks and is the result of new muscle proteins being produced.

Creatine increases your ATP cycle which helps blood flow to our muscles also increase, which would also serve to increase muscle size. Our strength increases because we have more force generating proteins and more blood feeding our muscles. This process is known as hypertrophy.

On the other hand, muscle volumizing is the swelling of our muscles with water as a result of a creatine load. Although our muscles increase in size, and you may feel more pumped, this isn not the source of our increased strength. We now know that creatine makes us stronger by extending our muscle energy capacity. Furthermore, muscle volumizing is very rapid.

Volumizing can be observed right after commencing loading, which is much too fast to involve the creation of new muscle tissue. It is just water. Therefore, it isn not size that makes us stronger, but more energy and new muscle proteins. So it's important to supplement protein after workouts with creatine to keep the gains you worked so hard for.

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

February 24, 2012 - 11:27 am What is Creatine http://tomorrowshomebusiness.ning.com/profiles/blogs/what-is-creatine-1
Creatine Monohydrate is a supplement that is commonly used by athletes, and people who want to be stronger during their workouts. Top creatine supplements have benefited my athletic endeavours when I was younger. To begin with, I had to find out what is creatine. Basically, creatine increases ones energy level by many chemical reactions in an individual's body known as the ATP cycle.
Now when I first was taking creatine, I followed the instructions and completed a loading phase. This is when one would actually take up to four times as much creatine as the normal recomended dosage for one's body weight. Although creatine supplementation started with the intent of increasing sports performance, its list of effective uses is growing.

The supplement is now used in clinical settings to help those with Parkinsons disease, heart failure, and also to increase strength and brain function for those with some muscular and neurological disorders. For supplement skeptics out there, creatine can also be found in whole foods such as red meats and fish. But do not think eating these foods everyday will pump up those muscles as much it would take downing dinosaur sized portions (we are talking one pound of red meat per 2 grams of creatine) to yield the same results.

If considering creatine, remember that there are always special considerations when dealing with unregulated supplements. It is always best to ask a health care professional before use. Those with preexisting kidney problems, or any complications that intermingle with kidney function such as diabetes, should be especially careful. This phase would always be in the first few days or weeks when one would be initally taking creatine.

There are conflicting veiws on whether or not a loading phase is even needed. Many say you actually urinate most of the loading phase creatine out of your system, due to the bodies inability to absorb those large quantities. So when I was on creatine in the future, I eliminated the loading phase and did not see any size or strength losses. Despite the fact the best creatine supplements are available today, years ago when I initally began taking creatine, it did improve my workouts. Not only in my strength levels, but the duration of my workouts seemed to lengthen as well. Just like taking any supplement, do your research.

Everybodys body reacts just a little different with supplements due to our own unique genetic make up. But if you have ever taken it before, or have just decided you are ready for some size and strength gains, I can not think of another supplement next to protein that will help you reach your fitness goals.
Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com

February 23, 2012 - 11:26 am What is Creatine http://douglasjamesmitchell.com
What is Creatine

Creatine, or otherwise known as Creatine Monohydrate is an organic acid naturally produced by ones body. For years, athletes and weight lifting enthusiasts have been looking for a supplement that would benefit their workouts. Creatine powder is what I started with years ago and noticed size and strength gains. The problem is that it was very gritty, and was not as easy to take as modern day Creatine, or liquid Creatine. Many people want to know does Creatine work, and I have to say yes.

There is a large but to that, meaning Creatine works only if you do. Just like with any other supplement, you need to put the appropriate levels of stress on the body through strength and resistance training like weight lifting. I am talking heavy weight training, with a repetition range of five to eight reps.

The only creatine side effects I have noticed was a little bloating, and a slightly elevated blood pressure. I believe the elevation in blood pressure had to do with Creatines ability to retain fluid in your body. Just like any supplement you use to increase your strength in your workouts, rest and recovery are just as if not more important. That is why I recommend extra sleep and a protein supplement to keep the gains you have worked so hard to attain. Keep with the basic exercises with a lot of multijoint movements.

This will ensure you are not wasting your time with isolation exercises. As said before, a heavy workout with fewer repititions along with Creatine supplementation will have you making gains in your workout routine.

Doug Mitchell
Skype: dmitchell757
Catskill, New York 12414
Phone: 518-722-8203
dougmitchell73@gmail.com
February 22, 2012 - These three main staples of health have been relied upon for years by health enthusiasts and medical professionals. Strengthening your immune system takes time and effort, but your health will reward you with the benefits. To get though, you have to give. So put a conscious effort into tweaking your lifestyle a bit to ensure your getting the most of your exercise, sleep and diet. As said before, exercise requires walking or moving your body to keep your heart rate elevated for over thirty minutes at a time. Your body’s natural defenses actually become stronger with regular exercise. With all that exercise, one should consider getting enough sleep each night. Your body will require more sleep while exercising, so it’s safe to say you should get more than eight hours of sleep a night. Sleep enhances your immune system by repairing damaged tissue from exercise and toxins you encounter throughout the day.
