To develop a LIST of prospects your main objective is to COLLECT their e-mail addresses and telephone numbers. Understand that when prospects view your web page and they don't join on their FIRST visit, chances are they will never return. And worse that that, you have no way to CONTACT them. Statistics show that very few prospects join on their first visit, in-fact it can take up to 7 visits. So to solve this problem you need to create a way of capturing your prospects' e-mail addresses and telephone numbers. This means you can follow up your prospects and build a relationship with them. Therefore:- The initial goal of your web page / e-mails is NOT to sell to your prospects, but to collect their contact details. You want your prospects to opt-in to your mailing list, agreeing to give you permission to continue contacting them about your business opportunity. Thus creating a mailing list of up-to-date, active prospects. In other words all your initial marketing efforts will be directed towards collecting your prospects' contact details and using follow up methods to build a working relationship with every one on your list. This means that your web page must have a form to collect your prospects' e-mail addresses and telephone numbers. You can use any of the following with your form: * a reward * a free giveaway * an offer for more information or some other enticement for your prospects to leave their contact details. Plus, a signature file which is simply a small message at the bottom of your personal outgoing e-mail messages. So put a signature on all of your e-mail messages, to direct your prospects to your web page that contains your subscription form. Ok now you have got some prospects, how do you keep track of all these details to follow up. Simple you just use a marketing tool called an 'Autoresponder.' Autoresponders are inexpensive mailing list managers that collect your prospects' e-mail addresses and automatically sends your messages to your prospects. You can create a series of letters in your autoresponder: 1. A welcome letter giving your contact details. 2. A letter about one of your products two days later. 3. A marketing tip three days later. 4. A testimonial about one of your businesses four days later. 5. An update on your latest opportunity five days later. 6. Hi I hope these ideas will help you develop your Home Based Business and create more leads and better prospects,

To have a successful Home Based Business, ranked in google, you need to become a better sponsor to your clients.
I want you to digest each idea and put some of the techniques into practice.

Todays idea - Don't sell features. Don't sell benefits.

Instead, base your sales presentation on your prospect's most pressing problem. Then you will have your prospect's respect and attention.

If you talk about the benefits of monthly payments (getting your earnings quicker, instant gratification for work performed, etc.) - you're doing better, but it still won't capture your prospect's attention.

Try talking about your prospect's most pressing problem. portray empathy with out being patronizing.

For example, you might say:

'Your mortgage payment is due at the start of next month.
I guess that will put a big hole in your paycheck.

Wouldn't it be nice to get a check from our company
that would pay your mortgage payment for you!
Then you'd have your entire paycheck to do what you want.

Your prospect is constantly thinking about his/her problems - not your benefits

You must take this into consideration and build a relationship with your prospect to develop them to the client stage.

Discuss the resources of your program, and how they can use them to develop their own business, thus addressing their financial problems, by building a future.

But, like your garage mechanics' tools, just having access to the tools, doesn't mean you can use them successfully.

The answer is that those who have succeeded in making money through the Internet have created a business with products and services that offer real or perceived value to their customers.
The products may be books (or e-books), humour, how-to advise, soap, clothing, foods, design services, writing services, or any other product or service.

But the secret to their success isn't the Internet. It's what they know about the products and services and the market for those products and services. And it's their passion and willingness to persevere, experiment and learn the best ways to reach their market - online and offline.

Ok, You can do that, too. But listen,don't expect to make money overnight and definately don't expect to get rich quick by purchasing a "business opportunity."

To be successful, you'll have to invest time and money into developing a business concept that will work and that people will want to buy.
Before you start any business online (or offline, for that matter), ask yourself these questions;

1 How much do you really know much about this business?

2 Do you have all the skills needed for this business?

3 If you're going to teach people to do something, do you know how to do it yourself?

4 If you are going to start a business providing support services, be sure you know your topic well and have excellent knowledge to relay and promote skills.

5 If you are going to help small businesses with their marketing, you need to be able to market your own services to those small businesses.

6 Do you need to bring in cash right now from this activity because the bill-collectors are knocking on your door? (If so, get a part-time job until your cash situation eases.)

7 Do you know how much money this business will cost to get started and to run?

8 Can you afford to spend that much money?

9 Do you understand how much time and commitment it will take to be successful online? Are you willing and able to devote that much time?

10 Have you talked to other business owners?

11 Is this really a product or service that customers (other than your relatives and friends) would be willing to buy?

12 Would they buy it at the price you'll have to charge to be profitable?

13 Do you know how to find the people who will buy this product? And how to find them on a regular basis?

14 Have you checked into the regulations of starting an online business - and for starting this particular business?

15 Do you know how to get people to visit a web site without sending spam mail?

If you can answer YES to the above questions, and if you know that people actually do use the Internet to buy the product or service you want to sell, then follow these steps;

A write a business plan - even a simple one - so you know what it will take to be successful.

B Put up your web site and test the Internet as a means to bring in added income.

C Plan on being persistent and proactive. Business won't come to you. You'll have to carve out your own road to success one step at a time. As you move forward, remember, too, that it takes many years for most businesses to become an overnight success.

But what about all these people you hear about who are working from home making money on the web? Heard It All Before....

I'm literally rolling in dough now, but it wasn't always that way.
Not long ago, I was out of work. My wife had lost her job also.
We sold our cars and we were just days away from foreclosure.
That's when I saw this website about...

You're not believing it are you?

Well how about this one:

The other day I was out in the yard planting new flowers.
My neighbor was getting his mail and came over and asked me,
"I've just got to ask you--it seems like you're always either on vacation in Hawaii
or you're at home playing with your kids. You just got that new Porsche,
so I've just got to ask, did you win the lottery or something?"
And then the story goes on to say how I started a new Internet business and left
my job within a month, making more now than I did at my job...

You know, I guess that kind of thing can happen, but it's certainly not the norm.
It is certainly not that fast and easy to succeed on the internet.

It takes work.

I want to warn you what to look out for in a personal story so you don't get spammed.
Copywriters will tell you that nothing gains trust faster on a website than a personal story.
Let the visitor know that you're just an ordinary person who found the right information at the right time.

So what do website owners do? They make them up!

I once found a website where the website owner spoke boldly about how he had made
hundreds of thousands of dollars in a few months on the Internet.
The guy must have been daft because he gave his actual address and phone number so people could
call or write to him directly.
I didn't call, but I was so curious I looked up his address on one of those websites,
you know, where you can see satellite images of people's houses.
Well, let me just say that after I saw where he lived,
I can tell you he wasn't making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year!
If you're going to lie, at least cover your tracks!
And at least be somewhat realistic.
What I've got to tell you is simply this:
Be wary when you see a personal story.
The intent is to gain your trust.
The tragic thing is that some websites will tell you a lie to gain your trust!
How's that for craic?

Unfortunately that's just the nature of the Internet and you have to be aware of what is going on.
Let me give you an example of a personal story that is real.
Tom Prendergast runs Veretekk, his site is the number 1 on the Internet in terms of membership.

It's upbeat, but it's real.
He makes it clear that you won't make millions overnight working online.
He talks about hard work, developing your knowledge and skills
over a period of time is builds a reasonable expectation of success.
You gotta give credit to a guy like that.
He's not overselling his website. I think that's why he's number 1 in the market.

So in conclusion just be wary of personal stories.
Remember the intent is to gain your trust.
Put up your guard when you see them.
