About Immunocal Ingredients

About Immunocal Ingredients

Immunocal is not just any whey protein product. This
patented isolate from whey is specially prepared to provide a
rich source of bioavailable cysteine. Following digestion, the
cysteine remains as the stable form cystine (2 molecules of
cysteine linked by a disulfide bond) and glutamylcystine. In
common processing these molecules are destroyed causing the
cysteine availability to be greatly decreased, preventing the
product from having the desired effect. Immunocal has been
extensively studied to effectively deliver cysteine and
naturally boost glutathione levels.

A Real Health and Wellness

A Real Health and Wellness
    Secret

There is an enormous secret
across the whole spectrum of health care in all countries
and that is the importance of glutathione in your body.
Nobody talks about it, most health professional know only
tiny bits about it and most know nothing at all. Some
medical researchers know lots about it but their research
writing is far too complicated for the average person.
Glutathione needs somebody like Oprah to let people in on
    this great secret.

Why is glutathione so important?
Glutathione is a major component of your immune system
which has a lot to do with maintaining your health and
keeping you free from disease. Glutathione levels in your
body also has a lot to do with how well you age and how
long you live. It can also have a lot to do with athletic
performance. The impact of high glutathione levels
can sound like snake oil because glutathione is in every
cell of the body so it has a pervasive impact. When
glutathione levels are low, you are on a downward spiral
    towards disease and death.

Dr Wulf Droge, the world
renowned research scientist with a background in
cancer, AIDS and Aging research, in his new book
called "Avoiding the First Cause of Death" mentions high
glutathione levels as one of the vital elements in living a
long and healthy life. He recommends daily exercise
combined with whey protein isolate as one of the key
secrets to longevity. I believe the book is the scientific
support for his personally designed product Immunocal
Platinum. Dr Droge is not a self appointed expert in this
field: he is the expert. Do a name search on Bing or Google
and you will find over 250 published articles by him in
peer reviewed medical journals---He is the Wayne Gretsky of
    published research.

Why is something this important
not well known? Up until recently, there has been basically
nothing the average person could do to raise his or her
glutathione levels so simply knowing about glutathione
doesn't help you much if there's nothing you could do about
it. Now that has changed. There is a totally natural whey
protein isolate powder called Immunocal that has been
clinically proven to raise your glutathione levels. It's in
the PDR in the USA and the CPS in Canada so it is a totally
legit medical product that you don't need a prescription to
take. It's a must have product for anyone who is proactive
in managing their own state of health and wellness. More
    information at

Glutathione: Your Health Insurance

Glutathione: Your Health Insurance

There's a lot of talk to day in the US about health
insurance but will having health insurance make you any
healthier? Probably not. If you have health insurance, you
should not go bankrupt or suffer with out necessary treatment
so your life will no doubt be better. But will you be
healthier?

Being healthier requires you to be proactive in your own
health. Eating the right foods in the right quantities is a
start. Getting sufficient exercise and maintaining an ideal
weight is a good second step.

Giving your body the tools it need to do its job is a third
important step. While eating good wholesome (organic) food will
supply most of the vitamins and minerals you will need, there
is one major exception and that is glutathione. Glutathione is
the body's own master antioxidant since it controls and, in
fact, recycles all the other vitamins like C and E. You cannot
eat glutathione to increase your glutathione levels but what
you can do is supply your body with cysteine.

Glutathione consists of 3 amino acids: glycine, glutamate
and cysteine. The body can manufacture the first two but it
must import cysteine. Importing cysteine in your diet is no
mean feat either because it doesn't often survive the digestive
journey.

You knew, of course, that there was a solution right? Well,
in fact, there is: Immunocal supplies the body with cysteine
which helps the body increase its glutathione levels.
Having high glutathione levels is the best form of
health insurance there is because its fundamental to
your immune system working. Without a strong immune system,
you are on a downward spiral inviting disease to gain
a foothold.

Raising Energy Levels Part 2

Energy Raising Part 2

Raising glutathione is often viewed primararily as
method of disease prevention for otherwise healthy people. For
those who have chronic illness or some type of acute illness
raising your glutathione levels should be a no
brainer.

For those who presume they are healthy, I would simply ask
the question: Are you absolutely sure about that?

There is another reason to raise your glutathione levels and
that is to raise your general energy levels in a quiet sort of
passive way. Not like the bolt you receive if you take Red Bull
(not recommended).

Having been on Immunocal for several years now at one pack a
day, I can testify that I very rarely feel the need for a nap
around 4 pm as I used to even 10 years ago. I am now 62, and I
work at home and my bedroom is only 20 feet away but I
never feel the need to go there. It also feels good that I am
doing something for my general health. My wife Pat never naps
and most of the time it's tough just to keep up with her. She's
on one a day as well and will turn 60 this year.

Lack of Energy and Raising Glutathione

Lack of Energy and Raising Glutathione

Dr Bill Code M.D. was diagnosed with MS in 1996 at the age
of 42. He credits part of his recovery to raising his
glutathione levels by taking Immunocal. In his book,"Who's in
Control of Your MS?" ISBN 0-9737918-0-2 states

"that if adequate GSH can be made inside the cell it
can minimize excess free-radical injury to, 1) the DNA, and
hence reduces cancer, 2) the cell membrane, prolonging cell
life and therefore anti-aging, and 3) the power center or
mitochondria of the cell which enhances energy production
within the cell"

It was this last feature that Dr Code gives credit for
getting his life back because it gave him the energy he was
lacking. He suggests that this may also help other people
suffering from the " energy illnesses" such as chronic fatigue,
fibromyalgia and also the fatigue associated with rheumatoid
arthritis and lupus.

Glutathione and Auto Immune Diseases

Glutathione and Auto Immune Diseases

Dr Jimmy Gutman calls the immune system impressive but not
infallible. It can sometimes respond to threats as non threats
and to normal functions as attackers on the body. The incorrect
immune responses are often two fold: autoimmune disease and
allergies. In autoimmune disease the body mistakes normal
tissue for a foreign antigen and attacks it, resulting in the
harming of healthy tissue. In allergies, the immune system
mistakes a harmless substance as potential dangerous and reacts
with an aggressive response. Common auto immune diseases are
Lupus, Chronic fatigue syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, Multiple
sclerosis (MS),ALS, and Crohn's disease.

You may wonder and your doctor may suggest that you not
boost your immune system because this would cause even
more damage to you. Glutathione and Immunocal are
often described as immune system boosters. Dr Bill Code,
an anesthetist, was diagnosed with MS when he was 42 (in 1996).
His doctor advised against taking Echinacea because it would
boost his immune system.

In his book on how he dealt with MS, "Who's in Control
of Your MS? Dr Bill Code writes about Immunocal and
Glutathione:

"...the "simple" boost is more correctly understood as a
modulation, a fine tuning, or even an optimization of our white
blood cell function. Therefore, it helps relieve rather than
aggravate the autoimmune illness, MS. I feel raising my GSH is
one of the biggest pieces (30%) of my own MS recovery puzzle."

Glutathione and Detoxification

Glutathione and Detoxification

We are surrounded by toxins in the air, water and in the
food we eat. We are simply being bombarded on a daily basis yet
few of us think about it very much since our immune system
deals with it for us. It is only when our immune
system gets overloaded that we are forced to pay attention.

One of the chief detoxifiers within our immune system is
glutathione. Glutathione's role in detoxification was only
recognized in the 1970's so it is a fairly recent
discovery for something so important. The primary detoxifation
organs in the body are the liver and kidneys so it should be no
surprise that these organs have the highest levels of
intracellular GSH in the body. If glutathione levels are lower
than they should be these organs cannot do the job they were
designed to do as efficiently as they should and we suffer:
disease gains a foothold.

In the conclusion of his chapter on detoxification, Dr Jimmy
Gutman states " Glutathione detoxifies a large number of
pollutants, carcinogens, heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides,
and radiation. We are exposed every day to toxins like
cigarette smoke, automobile exhaust, food preservatives and
dental amalgam and our bodies depend on glutathione for their
removal." Book: GSH: The Body's Most Powerful
Protector

Raising Glutathione Naturally

Raising Glutathione Naturally

NAC ( n-acetyl-cysteine) is a drug and a potent
glutathione precursor which is often used to break up
mucus in the lung diseases such as asthma and chronic
bronchitis. It is also the standard treatment for an
acetaminophen overdose.

Most human studies on glutathione use NAC. Studies have
included such diseases as cancer, AIDS, heart disease, heavy
metal poisoning and tobacco damage.

Dr Jimmy Gutman in his book GSH: Your Body's Most
Powerful Protector" states that:

"Its use in cancer therapy is exciting because it can
substantially raise glutathione levels and has emerged as a
promising anticarcinogen...It is also known to have direct anti
tumor effects and its ability to detoxify normal cells helps it
conteract the side effects of both chemotherapy and
radiotherapy".

NAC therapy is not without problems. First the side effects
can include a rash, nausea, vomiting, cramps and diarrhea.
Second, the drug results in a rapid peak of glutathione
followed by rapid decline often within hours. As a result,
several injections per day are required to maintain glutathione
levels.

In certain situations like a drug overdose, using NAC can be
life saver so the positive results far out weight the
possible side effects. In non emergency situations, there is a
totally natural product that can raise your glutathione levels
with virtually no side effects. It's called Immunocal. Like NAC
it is also in the Physicians Desk Reference in the USA and the
CPS in Canada so it can be used by your medical doctor as part
of your treatment program.

Aging and Exercise

Aging and Exercise

We all somehow assume that exercie is good for you. Maybe
because you just plain feel better after you've done something
for yourself. This feeling is backed up by statistical studies
that show that people who excercise are less ill than people
who don't exercise.

As we age our bodies change: we lose muscle mass, immune
defense, antioxidant function and glutathione. As our immune
system ages, exercise becomes more taxing and recovery takes
longer. We definitely do not perform as well as we once
did.

According to Dr Jimmy Gutman, aging exercisers need to
to boost their antioxidant intake in general and gsh levels in
particular to help offset the aging process. Given the right
tools, the body will respond in a positive way.

Health and Wellness Technology Gap

Health and Wellness Technology Gap

Paul Zane Pilzer in his book "Unlimited Wealth" discusses
technology gaps as being the difference between current
practises and the best practises possible. In business, it is
the difference between using a computer for bookeeping versus
hand written accounting entries. It could also be the
difference between using regular mail versus email. According
to Pilzer the great economic opportunities lie in closing
technology gaps.

There is an opportunity in the health and wellness industry
to raise glutathione levels using an all natural whey
protein isolate called Immunocal. It raises the
glutahione levels in the body which boosts the body's immune
response. Do you know anybody who might be interested in being
healthier, or living longer? It's all been scientifically
validated so it definitely qualifies as new technology that
works. It's just that vey few people know about it or use the
product. The perfect technology gap opportunity. Are you ready
to help close this gap?

Baby Boomers-Secret to Aging in Good Health

Baby Boomers - Secret to Aging in Good Health

This is not really a secret at all. It may be a secret to
you simply because you don't know about it yet. Medical
scientists have known for years that one of the big secrets
about living a long healthy life is to keep your glutathione
levels high. In most studies of old people, one fact appears to
be very constant. Old people have high levels of glutathione.
It could be just their chemical make up, or their diet or their
simple good fortune but having high glutathione levels blessed
them with a healthy old age.

Up until recently, there was no way to boost an individuals
glutathione levels so even though scientists knew that high
glutathione levels were important to healthy aging, there was
really no practical way for a person to control their
glutathione levels. Well now there is. It is called Immunocal.
This is not a gimmick, snake oil, a silver bullet or magic.
It's a totally natural food product that has undergone a lot of
REAL scientific research. It will raise your glutathione which
is your body's own master antioxidant. So if you are keenly
interested in staying health and living a long life perhaps you
should consider finding out more at my website.

Glutathione--The key to health and wellness

Glutathione is the key to health and wellness

The so called wellness revolution or wellness movement is
not about sickness but about staying well or preventing
disease. Prevention is the operative word. Proactive health
conscious consumers take a daily concoctions of
supplements to ward of disease and stay healthy.
Unfortunately most of them are missing the boat because they
haven't heard about or don't understand the real significance
of glutathione's role in our immune system. Glutathione
is central to the immune system's function. It is the body's
own master antioxidant that gets depleted over time destroying
pathogens. It is a non renewable resource unless we take
the appropriate measure to renew the resource. There
are very few ways we can practically boost our glutathione
levels. Thanks to Dr G. Bounous we do have a total natural way
to raise glutathione and that is to take Immunocal on a daily
basis. To find out more about glutathione and Immunocal visit.

Salt and Glutathione

Salt and Glutathione

While we often discuss glutathione's role in disease
fighting it's principle gift may be that it actually keeps you
in a state of wellness meaning "disease free".

Dr Gutman, in his live talks, often tells the story about
the family who were treated in Emerg after a road accident. As
the Undergraduate Director and Residency Training Director of
Emergency Medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Dr Gutman
would discuss treatment options and protocols with
medical students for numerous patients as a normal part of his
daily routine.

In discussing the family just admitted, he asked the
students to suggest procedures for
consideration. Several typical medical procedures
were offered and one medical student offered up the
suggestion that road salt was the best solution to this
problem. The accident had occurred on an icy road causing the
automobile to go out of control. If road salt had been applied
in a timely fashion the accident would not have happened.
Prevention was the solution not acute medical procedures.

Dr Gutman compares taking Immunocal, which raises
glutathione, to applying road salt on icy roads. So he suggests
that you don't wait for the medical problem to arise but be
proactive in taking steps to ensure that problems
do not arise at all. He also adds that while you may think
you are disease free, you may indeed have medical
problems you don't know about yet so be on guard. Dr
Gutman called his book about glutathione: "GSH --Your Body's
Most Powerful Protector" for good reason.

Glutathione Disease Fighter

Glutathione --Disease Fighter

Dr James Balch in his book "The Super Antioxidants" writes
that the research that has been done on aging, cancer, HIV
immunity issues and the results have indicated a strong
glutathione connection.

In aging, the decline in gluathione levels is the most
consistent variable in explaining aging than any other
antioxidant fluctuation. Other studies have shown that
Alzheimers disease, cataracts, Parkinson's disease and
atherosclerosis are all either preceded by or associated with a
decline in glutathione levels.

Dr Balch further states that glutathione offers solutions to
the two common theories on cancer formation: exposure to
carcinogens and nonrepairable lesions. In its role as a
detoxifier, glutathione flushes the body of carcinogenic
chemicals and as an anti oxidant glutathione works to fight
free radicals before lesions are formed. (page 99).

Glutathione and Disease

Glutathione and Disease

When you read about raising glutathione levels in your body,
glutathione can start sounding like snake oil because it often
can appear as the magic bullet people are looking for to
improve their health.

Part of the reason for this is simply because every cell in
our body uses glutathione so raising glutathione has a
pervasive impact within our bodies. While I have no doubt
raising glutathione levels will help all of us. (over 50 for
sure), it cannot do everything for us. But what it can do is
impressive.

In his book, "GSH, Your Body's Most Powerful Protector" Dr
Jimmy Gutman lists possible clinical applications for elevated
glutathione levels. Some of these are:

Parkinson's disease

Alzheimer's disease

Seizures

Multiple sclerosis

Cancer prevention

Tumor growth suppression

Prevention of wasting disease

Asthma

Emphysema

Certain drug overdoses

Detoxifies well known carcinogens

Enhances athletic performance

Decreases recovery time for athletes

There are many more. The book is full of possible
applications for glutathione enhancement.

Glutathione Product Credibility

Glutathione Product Credibility

If you search the internet you will find numerous references
to glutathione and related products. Many of these
websites will tell you the great things about what
elevating glutathione will do for your body. What they say
about glutathione maybe true but any claims about how their
particular product works to raise glutathione have to viewed
cautiously. If these websites cite research, was the research
done on the specific product they are promoting?

Like wise many websites promoting the benefits of whey
protein will cite the research of Dr Gustavo Bounous and claim
their product does the same thing. Dr Gustavo
Bounous researched whey protein and a process which
eventually became trademarked as Immunocal. All the research
done by Dr Bounous can only be applied towards Immunocal, not
all other whey proteins.

Do a search on any of the doctors in this blog and see what
you get.

There are a number of very prominent physicians associated
with our glutathione enhancement product known as Immunocal. We
have mentioned, Dr Gustavo Bounous, who is now retired, and has
been replaced at Immunotec by Dr Wulf Droge who has over
250 publications in medical journals. Another couple of
notable doctors have endorsed Immunocal, Dr Luc Montagnier,
winner of Nobel Prize in Medicine for his work on HIV and Dr
James Balch, author of the book "Prescription for
Nutritional Healing" found for sale and for customers
information at many health food stores. These doctors have
tremendous credibility within the medical community. Do you
think they would risk their reputations on a natural product
that was not clinically proven to work?

Glutathione and Exercise

Glutathione and Exercise

Exercise is generally recognized as good for the body and
one of the factors leading to a longer, healthier life.
Generally, moderate athletic activity is considered excellent
for the immune system since moderate exercise increases the
level and activity of many antioxidants.

For peak performance athletes who train rigorously and
constantly there are risks resulting in the suppression of the
immune system. While exercising strenuously, serious athletes
can consume ten to 15 times more oxygen than usual
resulting in oxidative stress. This increased oxygen
consumption and intensified metabolic functions results in
creation of a massive onslaught of free radical activity. Some
research indicates that these free radicals actually
cause muscle inflammation and damage.

So moderate exercise can be good but excessive exercise at
the "performance level" may actually suppress the immune
system. There are many articles documenting temporary immune
system deficiency after exhaustive training. This immune
deficiency leaves athletes wide open to viral infections and
the common colds often on the days of competition so
months of hard work go for naught.

According to Dr Jimmy Gutman, author of book, GSH, Your
Body's Most Important Protector

" Elevated glutathione levels provide better immune defenses
and reduced susceptibility to infections and disease. They also
help decrease recovery time from workouts, reduce muscle
fatigue and soreness and increase performance" page 222

Immunocal is clinically proven to raise glutathione levels
and it has also been tested and found safe to use for all
athletes by Consumer Lab.

Glutathione and Aging

Glutathione and Aging

There has been numerous scientific studies on aging and
glutathione and all indicate that if you want to live longer
and healthier, you need to keep your glutathione levels up.
Studies show that we lose glutathione levels as we age. Our
immune system is constantly fighting against pathogens and, as
it does, glutathione resources are being used up.
Unless we do something to restore our glutathione levels,
we are on a downward spiral. This is called the aging
process and we are all led to believe that what is happening is
inevitable so we should just accept it. Older people are
generally more susceptible to diseases such as cancer because
their immune system is weaker and unable to fight off
infections.

There is another group of people over 80 who are healthy,
vibrant and are on their way to their 95 th birthday. What's
the difference? Why are some seniors not only still alive
but active and healthy while others are chronically ill or
deceased? Studies have shown that the vibrant group of seniors
have high levels of glutathione. Why this is so is not known
but it's a medical fact. It's not just true for humans but all
living organisms.

In her book, "Stop Aging Now", Jean Carper highlights this
same point.

"You must get your glutathione levels up if you want to keep
your youth and live longer. High blood levels of GSH predict
good health as you age and a long life. Low levels predict
early disease and death"

Glutathione: Detoxifier

Glutathione: Our Body's Detoxifier

We are subjected to pollutants and toxins in the air we breath, the water we drink and the food we eat. It's wonder we survive at all. Some of us to better than others because we all have different exposure levels and we all have different glutathione levels. One day there will be a reliable, inexpensive way to test your glutathione levels like the test for cholesterol. I have a feeling that test is not too far off because life insurance companies read about glutathione too and they know people with high levels of glutathione live longer.

According to Dr. James F. Balch "over the years, the accumulation of toxins in the air, and water pollutants, processed foods and chemical exposure takes its toll on the amount of available glutathione in our bodies...It is probably here, in the detoxification process, that we slowly lose glutathione with age" As glutathione does it's job it gets used up and must be replaced other wise all the foreign invaders have a field day because our bodies defense is too weak. When this happens we are susceptible to many disease ranging from the common cold to cancers.

Glutathione can only be made in the cells of your body. Unfortunately for humans, the body can only provide 2/3 's of the ingredients required to manufacture glutathione. It must get the third component from our diet. Again, unfortunately for us, there are very few sources of cysteine in our food supply, (cysteine is the much needed third ingredient). You cannot eat glutathione to raise your glutathione.

The body makes its own glutathione once you supply it with the vital third ingredient: cysteine.

This is why the discovery of this whole process by Dr Gustavo Bounous is so important. He discovered how we could supply the human body with a critical amino acid which not only helps with the detoxification process but also acts an immune system booster and major antioxidant.

Maintaining Your Immune System

Immune System Maintenance

Many of us are quite good at taking care of our heart, our
weight and eat well. Some of us even take supplements to help
maintain good health. Few of us focus on maintaining and
reinforcing our immune system. We would not live
very long if we didn't have an immune system since it is
our front line defense against all infections and other
external attacks on our body.

According to Dr. Jimmy Gutman, there are a number of things
you can do to optimize your immune system;

1. Exercise regularly (45-60 min, 3 x a week)

2. Eat regular and varied meals

3. Maintain ideal body weight

4. Sleep regularly (8 hrs a day for young adult, less for
elderly)

5. Supplement your diet with vitamins, minerals and
micronutrients

6. Avoid undue stress

7. Laugh a lot

Things you should avoid:

1. Abuse of tobacco

Maintaining Your Immune System

Immune System Maintenance

Many of us are quite good at taking care of our heart, our
weight and eat well. Some of us even take supplements to help
maintain good health. Few of us focus on maintaining and
reinforcing our immune system. We would not live
very long if we didn't have an immune system since it is
our front line defense against all infections and other
external attacks on our body.

According to Dr. Jimmy Gutman, there are a number of things
you can do to optimize your immune system;

1. Exercise regularly (45-60 min, 3 x a week)

2. Eat regular and varied meals

3. Maintain ideal body weight

4. Sleep regularly (8 hrs a day for young adult, less for
elderly)

5. Supplement your diet with vitamins, minerals and
micronutrients

6. Avoid undue stress

7. Laugh a lot

Things you should avoid:

1. Abuse of tobacco

2. Abuse of alcohol

3. Abuse of caffeine

4. Using antibiotics inappropriately

5. Using steriods inappropriately

6. Exposing your self to radiation

7. Exposing yourself to toxins

Glutathione as a Dietary Supplement

Glutathione as Dietary Supplement.

Many people read about glutathione and are impressed
as they should be. They then go down to the local drug store or
health food store and buy glutathione in capsule or pill form
believing this will help raise their glutathione. The label on
the bottle may strongly indicate that that's what the pill or
capsule will do. The plain facts are you cannot raise your
glutathione levels by eating glutathione. If you buy these
pills, any glutathione in them will be broken down in your
digestive tract and eliminated by you without doing you one bit
of good.

In order to effective, glutathione must be manufactured
within your cells. Glutathione consists of 3 amino acids:
glycine, glutamate and cysteine. The body has ample supplies of
glycine and glutamate but it cannot manufacture cysteine. This
must come from your food sources. Unfortunately few foods
contain sufficient cysteine to be practical on a daily basis.
ie raw eggs, raw meat.

Immunocal has the patents based on legimate clinical
research because it can deliver the cysteine to your cells.
Immunocal is a unique bioactive whey protein isolate packaged
in such a way that it remains bioactive until you are ready to
use it.

As noted, Immunocal is a cysteine delivery system; it starts
with unique, patented milk processing and packaging methods,
and ends at the successful delivery of the fragile cysteine
molecule to your cells. Given all the right raw materials, the
body takes over manufacturing its own glutathione.

Big Differences in Whey Whey Protein

Whey Protein Isolate is not all the
same

Many milk derivatives and whey products exist on the market
place for health conscious individuals. These products are
extremely variable in their protein content, their
concentration, the amount of denaturization (damage to the
original protein structure), the actual types of proteins
present, and other factors which play important roles in the
effectiveness of the product i.e. concentration of protein,
types of protein, fat content, lactose content, bioavailablity
and biological activity.

Immunocal is a protein isolate. Whey
protein "isolates" are the purist form, being 90 to 98% protein
with negligible fat and lactose per serving. Whereas whey
protein "concentrates" usually contain between 70 to 75%
protein with signifant levels of fats, lactose and often many
toxins that accompany these. Immunocal contains sub families of
proteins with the highest levels of glutathione precursors
(building blocks available). The unique way that Immunotec
extracts these proteins intact (undenatured) in their natural
form accounts for our ability to deliver high levels of cystine
and cysteine to the cell.It was Dr G. Bounous
who first described the importance of keeping these fragile
proteins.

These techniques are not employed by other
manufacturers whose products have been seriously degraded by
the time they reach your body. Notice that you will
generally not find any warnings against heating other proteins,
because they are most often already seriously broken down.

Oxidation and Whey

When you peal an apple or a potato and leave them
exposed to air, after a while, they don't look that appetizing.
If you drive an old car or ride an old bike, you may notice
some rust spots. This is oxygen at work-- oxidizing your food
and your vehicles. The same thing happens to your big tubs of
whey once you open them. The powder oxidizes and while it may
have had some biological activity going on before you opened
it, it won't last long after its exposed to the air. The
protein is still good but it's no longer "alive". The Immunocal
processing and packaging are all designed to maintain the
bioactivity of the product. Big
difference.

2008 Nobel Prize Winner Writes About Glutathione

2008 Nobel Prize Winner In Medicine Writes
Whole Chapter on Our Product

Please Note: You don't have to be a
scientist to build this business. Immunotec has various tools
to explain the products in detail for you.

It's very good to know that the products you are promoting
have these scientists behind them.

Montreal, Canada, Press Release Oct 23,
2008

Immunotec congratulates 2008 Nobel Prize
winner in Medicine, Dr. Luc Montagnier

Immunotec Inc. congratulates Dr Luc Montagnier for winning
the 2008 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his 1984 discovery, with
Francoise Barre-Sinoussi, of the human immunodeficiency virus
(HIV). Drs. Montagnier and Barre-Sinoussi first understood that
HIV "impaired the immune system because of massive virus
replication and cell damage to lymphocytes." Their seminal work
set the stage for understanding the biology of the disease and
current modalities of treatment. In addition, it led to
development of methods of diagnosis and blood screening that
has mitigated the spread of the disease.

In related work, Immunotec Senior Vice President, Research
& Development, Dr. Wulf Droge and his colleaues were the
first to discover ( in 1989) that HIV-infected patients have
abnormally low cysteine and glutatione levels. In 1994,
Montagnier drew attention to the promising effects of
Immunotec's cornerstone product, Immunocal*, a proven precursor
of the major cellular antioxidant glutathione, in his opening
address at the 10th International AIDS Conference in Yokohama,
Japan.

The anti-HIV and anti-apoptotic activity of Immunocal and
its relation with GSH synthesis were further discussed in a
presentation at the same conference.

Three years later, Montagnier, Olivier and Catherine
Pasquier edited Oxidative Stress in Cancer, AIDS, and
Neurodegenerative Diseases, devoting an entire chapter to a
paper co-authored by immunotec foucnding scientist Dr. Gustavo
Bounous. Entitled Nutriceutical Modulation of Glutathione
with a Humanized Native Milk Serum Protein Isolate, Immunocal:
Application in AIDS and Cancer, the paper explored the
extremely rare glutathione-promoting components of proteins in
Immunocal and noted the implication of cellular glutathione
depletion in a number of degenerative conditions and disease
states including Parkinson's, Alzheimers, Arteriosclerosis,
cataracts, cystic fibrosis, malnutrtion, aging, AIDs and
cancer.

Immunotec salutes the achievements of Dr. Luc Montagnier.
The collaboration of science and medicine in quickly
understanding and providing treatment for infected individuals
has led to significant improvement in life expectancies for
those infected and resonates with Immunotec's mission of
helping human beings achieve wellness.

What is Glutathione (GSH) ?

Health and Wellness Opportunity: What is GSH?

I 've been writing about GSH or Glutathione without really
defining it. Maybe that because science is not my forte or my
real interest. I definitely value science but it's not me. But
I 'm sure there's a few, maybe 2 of you out there, who may want
more details on what exactly this is. Since I am no expect I am
going to quote exactly from Dr Jimmy Gutman's Book called "GSH,
Your Body's Most Powerful Protector" on page 13, Dr Gutman
writes,

" Glutathione is the general term for glutathione
sulfhydryl, abbreviated as GSH. The "SH" represents the
critically active sulfur sulfhydryl group. GSH is a peptide
(very small protein) that occurs naturally within the body,
where it is assembled by individual cells from three
components-the amino acids glycine, glutamate (glutamic acid),
and the all important cysteine. Because it contains three amino
acids it is referred to as a tripeptide...."

"Of these three amino acids, cysteine is the hardest to
find. Cysteine is a sulfur containing amino acid that
contributes the sulfhydryl group to the molecule, making it
also the most important of these raw ingredients. When cells
have cysteine, they can effectively manufacture GSH. However,
this amino acid is absent or deficient in many diets. Also, it
must be in an accessible form. Cysteine has trouble surviving
the trip from your mouth to your cells unless it's part of a
larger protein"

"Without adequate cysteine, cells can't produce enough GSH
and the body suffers on 3 fronts: cellular oxidation
contributes to general decline and aging; toxins form in the
body causing further damage; and the immune system is
compromised, leaving us vulnerable to disease."

Enabling cysteine to actually arrive intact, bio active and
ready to join the 2 other amino acids in your cells is the real
secret behind Immunocal.

Health and Wellness with GSH

Health and Wellness with GSH

GSH is the short form for "glutathione". You may never
have heard this word before but if you didn't have any you'd be
pretty much dead and gone. It's every body's master anti
oxidant, immune enhancer and detoxifier. Dr Jimmy Gutman who
wrote a definitive book on GSH always uses the acronym "AID"
(not AIDS) where A =Anti Oxidant I=Immunity and
D=Detoxification.

A..Glutathione is the most powerful anti oxidant in
your body. The effectiveness of Vitamin C and E depend
on it. In fact, they wouldn't work without it. Gsh actually
recycles Vitamin C and E

I.. Our immune system depends on
glutathione to function especially for the
creation and maintenance of T-cell lymphocytes which form the
primary defensive mechanisms fighting infections.

D.. Glutathione is the major
detoxifier for the body getting rid of toxins
such as drug metabolites, pollutants like smoke, carcinogens
and radiation damage. As you would expect major concentrations
of glutathione are in the liver, the body's main detoxifying
organ. Pg 14 "GSH by Dr Jimmy Gutman"

Glutathione and Aging

Health and Wellness: Glutathione and
Aging

There are probably hundreds and perhaps thousands of
remedies promising to reverse or slow down the aging process.
Some of these products may have good theoretical evidence that
they may in fact work. The proof is obviously in the results
which maybe much harder to prove. They also will take a long
time to prove as they follow people through the aging process.
Not all will work, so if you want to live a long time listen
up.

I believe nature reveals the secrets to a lot of true
remedies if we pay attention to the clues it leaves. The
pharmaceutical companies know this to be true so they study and
look for clues in 3rd world countries where tribes still live
off the land and use natural remedies to cure their health
problems. If they can find the clue, then they can make a new
drug and make more money.

One such clue was noted by Dr Gustavo Bounous in his
research on whey protein isolate and the longevity of mice. In
a controlled experiment at McGill University, Montreal, Canada,
the researchers compared the glutathione levels and longevity
of mice fed with a bio active whey protein isolate, later
trademarked as Immunocal, to those mice fed a standard diet.
Not only did the whey protein mice have higher glutathione
levels, they also lived 30% longer. Later experiments with
regular whey protein neither raised glutathione levels or
increased longevity.

In the past year, Health Canada has approved the
health claim that Immunocal or HMS
90 as its is known in Canada does, in fact,
raise glutathione. Could it be that the answer
to longevity was found in a product that beforehand had no
obvious use so it was dumped in rivers and streams to get rid
of it.
