A New Year of Business

Happy New Year!

I hope you enjoyed all of the festivities of bringing in 2010.

A lot of people make resolutions in an effort to improve some part of their life.

Resolutions are good things but I don’t make new year resolutions.

I’ve seen that it’s much better to make monthly or even weekly or daily resolutions.

If I make 150 sales in November then in December I’m going to push for 200.

If I generated 100 leads last week then I want to generate 150 leads this week.

If you have short-term resolutions then you’re more likely to achieve them.

I don’t B.S. people so, yes there is more to it than that.

You have to know what to do more of in order to increase your output.

For instance, maybe you’re having more success by doing webinars than sales calls.

However, if you don’t know where your prospects or sales are coming from,
then you have no idea what to tweak in order to be more productive.

As unemployment has continued to rise, I've been reflecting
on how people are going to survive this mess. If states are
coming up short with money, how are people going to get their
benefits?

These are major concerns but the solution is pretty simple.

In nutshell, people have to generate their own money.
You cannot rely on a boss or job security.

People are so keenly aware of this fact that millions of people
are currently looking for alternative ways to generate income.

What are some of the ways that you can generate leads or contacts for your business?

You could write a list of 100 people whom you're familiar with and from those try to get referrals.
You could prospect strangers and get referrals from them as well.
You could also buy a list of people who may or may not be interested in what you offer.
Some people may pass out flyers, post ads, and leave sizzle cards all over their area

These lead generation methods have worked for people in the past. Paul J. Meyer, Dexter Yeager, and others built large sales forces in the 1970s using these tactics and they may still work today if you're in the right area with the right offer.

The biggest issue with these lead generation tactics is that they only work with the right type of people. For instance, what if you're not outgoing or some of the people you work with aren't the sanguine type? That would mean you're no longer generating prospects for your business, which would stop your income. That can't happen. What you need is a lead generation system so that regardless of the type of people you hire or recruit your system continues to work even if your people don't.

When should you post classified ads for your business, or should you ever do such a thing? Well, it all depends where you will be posting to and if you understand the purposes for posting there. Ad blasters for instance are not used so that people can see your site all over the internet. They are used to expose your email address so that others can spam you.

You're probably thinking "Why would I do that then?" but the reason is because if you have the right marketing system those people will automatically get an email from you with the ad you're promoting. This is part of reverse marketing and it can be much more effective for lead generation than spending $200 or more per month on survey leads and tire kickers.

What about when you're sure people will see your ad? Many people subscribe to webzines, blogs, or go to websites like Craigslist, and putting an ad in those areas can boost your exposure. The important thing to remember is what valuable product or service are you giving to people. What are the merits of your business? Remember that radio station WIIFM? They always play the best stuff because people want to know what's in it for me.

Give people some free stuff or some free web pages. I've used these things myself so I know how how valuable they could be to someone else. You can do so much online and offline if you have the right business marketing software.

What is the best system for mlm lead generation? How do you spend less time and yet have more production for their business? It all depends on the systems you have. You as a business owner must invest in systems that can streamline your business and make it more automated. For instance, if we look at a McDonalds franchise regardless of the owner or location of that particular franchise they all use the same systems nationwide. They all have the same general layout or design and the same equipment. You won�t see a blue arch or employees wearing green at a different location. Similarly, McDonalds promotes brand awareness and they have everyone �loving it.� and as long as they promote those golden arches each franchise owner will have a stream of customers to serve.

The business owner doesn�t have to advertise or market they just have to maintain the systems for color-coded ordering, timer-cooked fries, and yellow-wrapped cheeseburgers. McDonalds Corp. develops the systems and handles marketing while the franchise owner invests in those systems and maintains them. Employees then go to work using those systems to serve customers.

Who makes the most money in that scenario? McDonalds Corp. does as they should. What about in your business? Whether you own a traditional business or work from home you should understand the use of systems. Unfortunately, most small business owners do not have any systems for running their business which means that if they are not there for weeks, months or years they will no longer own a business. Most home business owners have bought into a company with a system but it is usually still up to that home business owner to market and promote their business, and this is why most businesses, whether home based or traditional, fail within their first 5 years. Some businesses don't even make it 2 years and with home business their lifespan can be less than 1 month.

Don't be a statistic. Learn how to have a business marketing system that not only leverages your time but gives you the education and tools to be successful as you create wealth for yourself. Once the systems are developed and running it is not your job to maintain them but to keep expanding your business by letting others invest in your company. With a traditional business this is done by franchising or starting a chain and implementing those same systems in your new location. With most home businesses this is done by recruiting or building a team who will learn your company's system. Every new location or business partner could mean the exponential growth of your business.
