Marketing Technigues and Search Engine Marketing

In my last post on Marketing Techniques and Search Engine Optimisation I stated that You should always Keep in mind that all Marketing Techniques are Ultimately Search Engine Marketing

There is, therefore, plenty that You must pay attention to for true website search engine optimization
Here's a few things to keep in mind, (and Hopefully a couple of useful Tips)

Always use H1 and H2 (etc) tags for Your Page Titles and/or Headlines,

the Search Engine Spiders much prefer these over the FONT tags.

Make sure that Your WebPages have the correct HTML coding.

You can use W3C Markup Validation Service to check Your pages content.
They'll give You a nice little report, with every thing that You need to do for proper Search Engine Optimization all spelled out for You

For some reason Search Engines prefer larger WebSites over Websites with just 1
page, or maybe a handfull of pages.

You want to have at least 10 pages of good solid content

If you have less than 10 pages, look them over to see if You can separate Your information, and extend Your Websites index of pages

Keep page content on the shorter side; use less words, instead of more. Your not going to keep Your Prospects on Your page for long, so, Keep it short and sweet, (that old K. I. S. S. principal..you know-Keep It Simple Stupid) :) using Key Words and Key Word Phrases through-out the page.

and

Update Your Web Site 0n a (somewhat) regular basis.

Search Engines, again, especially Google, like, no, Need, constantly changing content, and will 'Spider' Your Web Site more often if it knows there is Fresh, Relevant content.
(It's what we call "Feeding the Spiders").

The Absolutely Best way (in my mind) to keep Fresh, Relevant, content is to place an RSS Feed on Your Web Site. If you have the RSS Syndication capabilities on Your own Blog--place that Feed on Your Web Site...That's real Search Engine Optimization for ya'

Having some kind of Marketing Article Generator; that UpDates on a regular (at least Weekly) basis, on Your WebSite, is another great, on Site, SEM Technique

Create a good Site Map for Your Web Site, You can go to Google and check out theirWebMaster Tools section...

Putting a Google Site Map on Your Web Site is one little Search Engine Optimization Technique that many people overlook (Google likes to see Google)

Request a Link from a Web Directory, starting with DMOZ

Put Your Own Web Directory on Your Web Site;

WebCatch is one Web Directory that works very well for
Search Engine Optimisation Techniques

At least once a week, Request a Link from a Web Site that is Relevant to Yours--Of course, this requires some work (Research) on Your part...

The days of posting to Link Farms and FFA's for Relevant Links are Gone If your Inbound Links aren't Relevant to Your Web Site, they will actually count Against You

Now...
You have Optimized Your Web Site for the Search Engines (at least You've covered the bases) This is the first step on Your Search Engine Marketing career

Marketing Techniques and Search Engine Optimization

Search Engine Marketing Techniques

In the Wonderful World of Internet Marketing, there are as many
Marketing Techniques as there are Marketing Experts, "Guru's"
0r...Consultants.

In the pursuit of a good Search Engine Ranking , I have employed
just about every Marketing Technique out there...
But, no matter which Marketing Techniques I used, the Ultimate
goal was that 1st page listing on Google, that Ultimate 'pie in the sky'
So, I guess you could say that, all Marketing Techniques are just
different forms of Search Engine Marketing as that all important Search Engine
listing is the common goal or end result of almost all Marketing Techniques
Having a good Search Engine listing is the surest source for
Prospects to find You.
It doesn't matter which Marketing Techniques You use, if the
Search Engines can't find You; neither will Your Customers or Prospects.

So, I believe, the obvious 1st place to start, in any Marketing Campaign;
is with Your Web Page.
On Site Optimization is the easiest to control aspect of Your entire MarketingCampaign.
And the Meta-Tag is the easiest to control aspect of Search Engine Optimisation.

Keep in mind that the Search Engine spiders count 'characters' not words and/or numbers..

The Meta Tag is is the 1st thing the Search Engine spiders (or robots) 'see' when they check your Web Site.
All the information about Your Web Site is sumarised in the Meta Tag.
The Meta TAg is broken down into 3 seperate 'tags' or categories

TITLE Tag-

The Web Site Title, what is seen at the top of the browser window
when someone logs onto Your Web Site.
Your Title Tag should have Your most Important Key Words or Key
Word Phrases in it while, still, staying within 60 characters (letters, numbers, etc.) or less.

META Description-

Basic Information on what the Search Engine will find on the Web Site

Here, again, You want to use Your most important Key Word or
KeyWord Phrases, keeping it down to 150 characters or less.
This is the little description Your Customer or Prospect will see on Google when
they find Your Listing
So, You want to be sure that You have a good short sentence that makes sense and is 'Readable'
{I usually stay with the old 15 words rule}

META Keywords-

The All Important KeyWords and Key Word Phrases
This is just a simple listing of all the Key Words and Key Word Phrases that are important to
Your Web Site;
Use a good Key Word research tool (I like to use WordTracker, which is Free,
but, there are plenty of other Free Key Word research tools available)

Don't list Any KeyWord more than 5 times, even if it is part of a Key Word Phrase,
or You will run the danger of being listed as a Key Word 'spammer'
Try and stay less than 874 characters, and the Less the better.
Always List Your most important Key Words 1st.
Usually, with most Search Engines, and definetly with Google; the
first 7 Key Words carry the most 'weight' or importance in the 'eyes' of the
Search Engine 'spider'

Make sure that each one of your Web Pages has it's own Meta Tag.
So that all Title Tags, Descriptions, and KeyWords for each page is Relevant to
that page
With a good Meta Tag, Your well on Your way to true
Search Engine Optimization

Happy Marketing and Many Blessings...

Marketing Techniques

Over the years, I have tried many different Marketing Techniques, mostly by the 'hit or miss' method
While looking for 'free advertising sites' I stumbled accross 'BlastoMatic'. Little did I know just how much this one Marketing Technique would change my life...
I was impressed with the ability to 'blast' out 12 million ads to FFA sites, Clasified Ad Sites and Forums, the advantages were immediately clear to me, I thought...
In my ignorance, I had no idea just what a valuable Marketing Technique this was...
I did get immediate results--responses to my Ad 100s of them.
What I didn't realize was that No Body really reads FFA's or Classified Ads anymore--the beauty of this Marketing Technique was that my eMail address was out there just waiting to be harvested; and it was, that was where all these emails were coming from
